INTRODUCTION

OVERVIEW

Videocon Industries Ltd. was one of the initials company that made it to the
World. Videocon Electricals captured the initial Indian Electrical market and
topped the charts for its products such as Refrigerators, television etc.
before other players such as Samsung, Whirlpool etc .entered Indian
market. Videocon was one of the first Electronic Company to Collaborate
with Japanese Toshiba Ltd as early as 1985. Videocon Industries
Limited is a large diversified Indian company headquartered
in Mumbai.
The group has 17 manufacturing sites in India and plants in Mainland,
China Poland, Italy and Mexico. It is the third largest picture
tube manufacturer in the world. The group is a US$5 billion global
conglomerate.

Videocon Industries was incorporated in 1986.The company has two core activities, which
includethe manufacturing, assembly, marketing anddistribution of consumer electronics and
homeappliances, and exploration and production of oil andgas.The company presently has seven
operatingbusiness divisions, in which major divisions areconsumer electronics,
homeappliances,components, etc.In India,Videocon has eleven manufacturingfacilities.The
manufacturing facilities produce acomplete range of consumer electronics, homeappliances and
critical components such ascompressors, etc. It is the only manufacturer of glass panels in
India.The facility at Bharuch islargest in the world at a single location and the thirdlargest overall.
Videocon is one of the major CRTmanufacturers globally, with plants in Poland, Chinaand
Mexico.The Poland plant also produces glassshells. It assembles air conditioners in Oman
andCTVs in Italy.The company has emerged as one of the largestcolour picture tube (CPT)
manufacturer in the worldafter the acquisition of Thomson's CPT business, andexpects this to
grow its international sales to EUR782.36 million within three years.It is an ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001 certifiedcompany and has received the CE approval for exports to the EU. It has
also been certified bythe VDE Testing and Certification Institute andcorresponds with British
standards.

Once the problem is formulated, the researcher undertakes an extensive literature survey
connected with the problem.
The literature survey undertaken here includes the books ans different web sites from the
internet.
The research project was to marketing strategies of Videocon of 200lts. Refrigerators on the basis
of price, Brand Name, Quality & after sales services.

I have studied Research methodology, methods and techniques by Kothari C.R, new age
international ltd. Publishers , second edition, Ch 3 page no 39-67, methods of data collection Ch
6 Page no 117-150, analysis of data Page no 151-186. I have also studied Statistical method by
Gupta S.P, sultan chand and sons, educational publishers, New Delhi, page no 377 to study the
correlation.

OBJECTIVE

Videocon is a company hard to pass by as it was one of the few Indian Companies to be listed
in Fortune 500 beside being initial Indian MNC. With its wide range of electrical product range I
choose the one that has kept the Indian cools in enthralling summers Refrigerators. The Hot and
Humid weather of the country had made many Korean and Americans countries to walk into
Indian market earlier captured by Indian Electronics Giant Videocon. The effect on Videocon
and its strategy thus become my area and/or object of study.

Objectives are:-

Promote and enhance our competitive total rewards package to recruit and retain top
talent.

Create a total rewards message to educate HR partners, hiring managers, and recruits on
the total value of the Virginia Tech employment package Work closely with management
to reinforce.

Evaluate the Digitels technical operations and strategies and how they
became successful despite of its existing competitors. Central Problem Before the
acquisition of the Digitel network, a lot of their mobile network subscribers are
complaining about the signal that they supplied to their customer especially in Metro
Manila area.
