Acts 16:31 What does it mean? Is it only “Believe”?

James 2:19 “The devils believe”. The devils are believers, but they are still devils. They are lost, but they
are believers. It is apparent that belief alone does not save.

Matthew 8:29 “Jesus, thou Son of God? Are you come hither to torment us before the time?”

Mark 1:24 “Jesus I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.”

Acts 16:17 “These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. “

“LORD” “Master”. He has the right to control our lives.

John 8:12 “He that follows me shall not walk in darkness.”

He is our Guide.
In the mountains and glaciers, you must step in the guide’s footsteps.
You must obey the guide.
To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means to take Him as our Guide, Teacher and Master.
Not our ways, but His.

Luke 6:46 “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

“JESUS” Jesus means Savior.

Matthew 1:21 “Jesus” margin “Savior”.

“He shall save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 20:28 “The Son of man came to give his life a ransom for many.”

Isaiah 53:6 “The Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us

Isaiah 53:8 “For the transgression of my people was he stricken.”

Why did Jesus die? Here is the answer.

Hebrews 9:28 “Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many. “

Jesus was more than a martyr for a good cause, He was an offering for sin.

1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we should live unto
righteousness.”

John 8:34-36 “Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.”

Therefore Jesus is not Lord and Savior of a life committed to sin.
 BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

“The Son shall make you free”.

“Free indeed.” John 8:36.

We cannot trust ourselves away from Christ for a single hour.

“CHRIST” = Messiah = Hebrew.

Christ = Greek.
Same word in both languages

The Coming One.

Psalm 40:7 “Lo I come”.

Hebrews 10:7 “Thy Law is within My heart.”

Isaiah 42:21 “He will magnify the law and make it honorable.

“His people” do not downgrade it.

“His people do not call it “filthy rags”, Catholicism”, “legalism”, “works”.

“BELIEVE”. To “Believe on the Lord Jesus is to trust Him as your Lord, Savior, Guide, Example and your
All in All.

Hebrews 11:31 “Believed not” margin = were disobedient.

Sin and Satan are strong, but the LORD JESUS CHRIST is stronger.

“Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.”

THE LAW OF GOD IS A REFLECTION OF HIS CHARACTER

TO BELIEVE IS TO OBEY.

Hebrews 4:11 “Unbelief and disobedience”.

Romans 11:30 “believed and obeyed”.

Romans 11: 31 “believed and obeyed”.
