Miniatures Assembly Guide MINIATURE ASSEMBLY GUIDE

just starting out introduction

If youre a new player just starting with our new Jovian Wars Tabletop Wargame, you will have downloaded the free Beta Rules
Edtion PDF. Thanks to our Jovian Wars Kickstarter Backers we now have new resin spaceships with pewter parts for the Jovian
and CEGA factions of the game. This Miniature Assembly Guide is designed to help new players with assembling the new
1/4000 scale Spaceship models, 1/1000 scale Exo-Armor squads, and 1/1000 scale Fighter squads.

model Assembly for your first game

Well go over the basics of Jovian Wars resin and pewter miniature assembly in this section. From what tools and supplies
youll need, to safety and assembly tips. Each ship page has many photos from different angles to show parts placement and
where to drill the ships mounting hole.

Tools and supplies needed include a Hand Drill with 1/8 drill bit, Hobby Knife,
and Super Glue or Two Part Epoxy Glue. Plus Fine Grit Hobby Files, Sand Paper,
or Sanding Pads which are handy for smoothing out the gate points where resin
or pewter entered the part during production.

Safety Tip: Super Glue Accelerator Spray can also be helpful

Hobby knives are very sharp and must be used with great care, or serious injuries can to instantly set the Super Glue on parts.

acrylic bases Assembly

Each ship is supplied with an appropriately sized base with a 1/8 hole to fit the acrylic rod for mounting the ship. Refer to the
rules to confirm the base size is correct. This information is at the bottom of each ships data card. If the rod does not fit snugly
into the hole in the base cut some clear tape and wrap it around the rod until you have a snug fit. If the post is not glued to the
base or the ship then it can be easily disassembled if you need to transport your ship.

DRILLING HOLE FOR 1/8 dIAMETER ACRYLIC BASE POST

A 1/8 hole will be need to be drilled in the underside of each model for mounting the ship on the acrylic rod. Locate the pilot hole and
drill a hole. Do not drill completely through the hull, only to just under half way. The angle of the hole will change the position of the ship
on the rod. Check your angle of drilling carefully as you drill.

To assemble your SHIPS, follow these steps:

Wash all the resin parts to remove any mold release agent that may still be on the parts.
Use a hobby knife or fine grit hobby file or sand paper to trim any excess flash or resin/pewter gate connection points from the parts
and use a dust mask. We recommend using the wet filing or sanding method on resin parts to prevent resin dust in the air.
Assemble one model at a time to prevent mixing of parts.
When gluing wait until glue is set before advancing to the next of the following gluing steps.
1. Drill out the 1/8 diameter Hole for the acrylic base post before assembling and gluing all the parts.
2. Using super glue or two part epoxy glue (plastic cement wont work on resin and pewter parts).
3. Glue on all the pewter parts (engines, engine fins, habitat modules, weapons, and other parts) to the resin ship sections.
4. Glue the ship sections together, making sure they are all lined up properly as desired and so that the ship looks good
when mounted on the acrylic post and base.
5. Prime and Paint as desired and apply decals (sold separetly).

EXAMPLES OF PAINTED NEW 1/4000 SCALE SHIPS Miniatures Assembly Guide

jovian and CEGA paint scheme ideas and decals

We took some photos of the Jovian Wars demo game minis that Dave painted up. He selected a blue and grey paint scheme
for the Jovian forces and dark green scheme for the CEGA forces. In the Jovian Chronicles lore most CEGA forces were in a
green paint scheme, with ace exo-armors or fighters in red. The Jovian forces were mostly in an off-white with bright high light
colors of blue, orange, or green. Your the admiral in command, so you get to choose the color scheme for your force. Plus we
have faction decal sheets available to finish up your ships. Also the pages that follow include photos of the older 1/5000 scale
Jovian Chronicles spaceships for more paint scheme ideas.
