Charging stations becoming common sight in county

The village of Geneseo has
done everything it can do to
get its new electric vehicle
charging station up and run-
ning and is now waiting on
Rochester Gas & Electric to
send a crew to hook it up.
Right now its just kind
of frustrating because its
all ready to go, literally all
ready to go, said Mayor Dick
Hatheway. We have the nec-
essary parts and all it has to
do is be set in place.
The charging station, which
will be located behind 119
Main St. in the villages
municipal parking lot, will be
able to charge two vehicles at
a time.
The village first broached
the idea of installing an elec-
tric vehicle charging station
with the Genesee-Finger
Lakes Regional Planning
Council. Last year, the village
met with Dave Keefe, coor-
dinator of Genesee Region
Clean Communities, a Roch-
ester-based non-profit aimed
at reducing dependence on
petroleum use while encour-
aging the use of alternative
fuels.

ing stations in Rochester, so
they were looking to do some
on the perimeter (towns)
such as Brockport, Batavia,
Geneseo and Canandaigua,
explained Hatheway. So
they offered us the charging
