OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES DEFIBRILLATOR

PROCEDURE:

Honeywell ED 420 Defibrillator:
DAILY TEST PROCEDURE:
1. Unplug the defibrillator from electricity source.
2. Press the ON / OFF button, green light, lights up when battery in use.
3. Set energy level to 40 50 joules.
4. Press the test button.
PROCEDURE WHEN IN USE:
1. Apply gel over the electrode plate.
2. Press ON / OFF button.
3. Select energy level and press CHARGE buttons, charge lamp lights, when ready.
4. Make sure that in defibrillation process all are CLEAR, patient if hairy must shave
before application of the electrodes.
5. Apply the electrodes.
Defiport SCP 912 Defibrillator:
1. Apply electrode cream to both electrode contact surfaces.
2. Select energy level.
3. Apply electrodes firmly.
4. Press charge button, when buzzer sounds, check stored energy.
5. Press buttons on both electrodes simultaneously.
6. Set power switch 2 to 0.
DO NOT TOUCH PATIENT DURING DEFIBRILLATION.
