GENERALLY

A TheLumpsumamountenteredbytheContractorintheseBillsofQuantitiesshallconstitutetheentireclaimfor
compensationfortheworkunderthiscontractinaccordancewiththeConditionsofContract.Theworksshallnot
bere-measuredandwillbesubjecttoadjustmentonlyasaresultofchangesinthescopeofworkthrough
changesindrawingsand/orspecifications.TendererarefurtherreferredtoInstructionstoTenderersinthis
respect.

B UponawardofContract,theBillsofQuantitiesshallbeusedsolelyforevaluationofprogresspaymentsduetothe
Contractor,andasascheduleofratesforchanges.

C TheBillsofQuantitiesherein,includingallnotesandinstructions,shallformanintegralpartoftheContract
Documents.However,thedescriptionscontainedintheBillsofQuantitiesforeachitemarenotnecessarily
complete.

D TheContractoriscautionedtofamiliarisehimselfwiththefullcontentofotherDocumentsincludingtheDrawings
andSpecificationsoranyotherinformationthatcanbereasonablyinferredfromanyofthemandallobligations
containedinthedocumentsshallbeincludedinthetenderpricesandlumpsumtenderprice,evenifspecificitems

E Drawings,Specifications,ConditionsofContractandBillsofQuantitiesandallotherDocumentsare

F TheContractor'sbidfortheentireworkshallprovideforsupervisionofanyoralltradesthatisnotintendedtobe
performedwithhisownforces.Noextracompensationforservices,asaGeneralContractorwillbepaid.

G TheContractorisrequiredtoprovidewithhisTenderthreecopies(1originalandtwocopies)oftheBillsof
Quantitiesfullypricedoutinwaterproofinkwithsummationsheetsproperlycompleted.

H AmendmentshallnotbemadetotheseBillsofQuantitieswithouttheauthority,inwriting,oftheEngineer.

J TheContractorshallnotusetheseBillsofQuantitiesasthebasisforaconstructionprogrammeorforthepurpose
oforderingmaterialsorarrangingSub-Contracts,betheyNominatedorotherwise.Thereferencesforthese
activitiesshallbethedrawing,specificationsandinstructionsissuedbytheEngineer.

A TheContractor'sunitratesaretobefullyinclusivevalueoftheworkdescribedandmustincludeallrelatedwork,
accessoryorconsumablematerials,incidentallabour,supervision,administration,tools,constructionequipment,
overheadandprofitandallcostsandexpenseswhichmayberequiredinandforthecompletionofthework
describedtogetherwithallcostsandexpensesincomplyingwithallgeneralrisks,liabilitiesandobligationsset
forthorimpliedintheDrawings,SpecificationsandConditionsofContract.

B Itemswhereunitratesareapplicableshouldnotbepricedaslumpsum.

C Wheretheword"allow"isused,thecostoftheitemsshallbetheresponsibilityoftheContractor.

D Wheretheword"item"isused,thecostoftheitemsshallbetheresponsibilityoftheContractor.

E Theamountssetagainstanyitemsofprofitshallincludeforallcostsinconnectionwiththelettersofcredit,bank

(ii)Takingfromstores,distributing,hoistingandplacinginposition,allitemsofplant,equipmentandmaterials
requiredbyhimintheexecutionofhisworks.

(iii)Alllabour,plantetc(otherthanincludedinAttendancestobeprovidedbytheMainContractor).

(iv)Siteofficesandstoresrequiredbyhimfortheexecutionofhisworks.

(v)Obtainingsecuritypassesforaccessofworkpeopletothesite.

vi)Offloadingfrommaterialdeliveryvehicleshismaterials,placingintemporarystoreson-site,distributing,hoisting
andplacinginposition.

PC and Provisional Sums

C Forallworkexecuted,orgoods,materials,plantorservicessuppliedbyanyNominatedSub-Contractoror
NominatedSupplier,theContractorshallbeentitledto:-

(a)TheactualpricepaidorduetobepaidbytheContractor,ontheinstructionsoftheEngineer.

(b)inrespectofallothercharges,profitandattendance,asumbeingapercentagerateoftheactualpricepaidor
duetobepaid.TheContractorshallinsertthepercentageorsumasapplicablerequiredforallothercharges,
profitandattendanceagainsteachitemintheBillofProvisionalSums.

(c)ShouldtheContractorbeawardedworkunderanyPCsumforwhichhehastendered,theamountforprofit
andattendanceallowedbyhimagainstthePCsumshallbededucted.

(d)ShouldworkstatedasPCitembedeletedfromtheContractandtheClientchoosestocarryoutsuchworkasa
directcontractthentheallowancefor"profitandattendance"shallbedeleted,anyattendancerequiredtobe
providedbytheContractorshallbenegotiatedwiththeClientasavariationinaccordancewiththeTermsofthe

A WithintheBillsforProvisionalSumstheContractoristoallowforallthebuildersworkrequiredinconnectionwith
thevariousworkelementscoveredbyProvisionalSumsasnoted.Toassessthebuilder'sworkrequired,the
ContractormayreviewthedrawingsrelatedtotheseWorksattheofficesoftheEngineer.

B AllotherChargesOverheadandProfit

AllotherChargesandProfitincludesProfit,Overheads,Facilities,AssistancesandAttendancesinconnectionwith
theexpenditureofProvisionalSumsinfavourofSub-Contractors.

C GeneralandSpecialAttendances

TheexpressionGeneralAttendancesshallmean,butisnotlimitedtothefollowing:

a)TheuseoftheContractor'sadministrativefacilities.

b)Theuseofgeneralconstructionplant.

c)TheuseoftheContractor'sfacilities,includingmessrooms,sanitaryaccommodationandwelfarefacilities.

d)Theuseoftemporaryworks.

e)SpaceforSub-Contractorsoffices,storesandlaydownareas.

f)Theclearingawayofallrubbish,wasteanddebrisonaregularbasis.

g)Theprovisionandremovalofgeneralscaffoldingforgeneraluse.

h)Unloading,distributing,hoistingorloweringtotherespectivefloorlevels,andplacinginsuitablepositionsfor
theSub-Contractorallplant,machineryortheliketobeinstalledbytheSub-Contractor.

i)TheprovisionofelectricalpowerbyMainContractorfortheSub-Contractor'sworks,includingalllightingand3-
phaseorheavysupplies,whichmayberequiredforpurposesoftestingandcommissioning.

j)TheprovisionofwaterfortheSub-Contractor'sworks,includingtherequirementsfortestingandcommissioning
andsubsequentremovalofwater.

k)TheprovisionofallfuelnecessaryforthetestingandcommissioningoftheSub-Contractworks.

l)Thegeneralco-ordinationandintegrationofallSub-ContractworksintotheGeneralProgramme.

m)AscertainingfulldetailsofanyworktobeexecutedbyotherSub-Contractor'sinconnectionwiththeSub-
Contractworksandarrangingforsuchworktobeexecutedatthecorrecttime.

C Theexpression"Builder'sWork"shallmeanallancillaryworkcarriedoutbytheContractorinconnectionwithall
Sub-Contractworksandinstallations.

D Thedrilling,cuttingorleavingofholesoraperturesthroughstructuralfloors,walls,beams,etc.shallbeavoided,
butwherethisbecomesanecessity,theContractormustobtainthewrittenapprovaloftheEngineerbeforethe
workisputinhand.

E TheContractorshallallowforallBuilder'sWorkInConnectionwiththeinstallationwhichshouldincludebutisnot
limitedtothefollowing:

a)FixonlyandinstallallinsertsandanyotheranchoredmaterialsrequiredfortheWorks,whichrequiretobe
embeddedinthebuildingstructureandblockwork.TheseinsertsaretobeprovidedbytheSub-Contractortothe
Contractor.

b)Drilling,cuttingorleavingholesforpipes,ductsandthelikethroughwalls,floors,partitions,etc.and
subsequentlymakinggood/waterproofingwherenecessary.

A PaymentfortheestablishmentoftheitemssiteofficeandfacilitieswillbeLumpSumwhichwillbemadeonlyafter
thecompletionofallfacilities.BreakdownofallLumpSumamountstobesubmittedtogetherwiththeTender
Submission.

B Paymentforthemaintenanceofsiteofficeandfacilitiesitemswillbeinmonthlyinstalments.

C PaymentfortheremovalofsiteofficeandfacilitiesitemswillbebyLumpSumwhichwillbemadeonlyafterthe
completionoftheirremoval.TheremovaloftheSiteOfficefortheEngineershallbeonemonthafterthe
completionoftheWorks.

D Paymentforcontractorssupervisionandthelike,billitemsshallbeinmonthlyinstalments.

E Instalmentscanbesuspended,reducedordeletedfromanyContractPayment,if,intheopinionoftheEngineer,
theContractorisnotfulfillinghisobligations.

F TherateinsertedforGeneralProtectionofthesiteshallincludeforthecosttomaintainaccesstoareasadjacent
totheworksite.

G Theitemfortrafficsafetyandcontrolshallincludethecostofalltemporarytrafficdiversionsandtraffic
managementnecessarytocompletetheworks.Theitemshallincludebutnotlimitedtoforliaisonwiththelocal
authoritiestoconfirmtheirrequirementsforsafety.

H Temporaryworks,diversions,sitecleaning,etc,andotheritemsnototherwisecoveredinthispreambleor
otherwisedetailedintheBillsofQuantitieswillbecostrelateditemsandwillbepaidasapercentageofwork
completedtototalvalueofwork.

J Paymentfortheestablishmentofsurveyingequipmentwillbelumpsumanditwillbemadeonlyafterthedelivery
ofalltheequipmentspecified.Paymentforitemsmaintainedwillbeinmonthlyinstalments.

K PaymentforassistingEngineershallbeinmonthlyinstalmentsandisdeemedtocoverallcostsinproviding
assistancetotheEngineerbytheContractorasstatedintheContract.

L PaymentforProjectSignBoardsshallincludeforerection,maintenance,removalwithinonemonthofcompletion
andreinstatementofgroundtoitsoriginalstate.

M PaymentforprogressphotographswillbebysetofmonthlyprogressphotographsasdefinedintheSpecification.

N Paymentforconditionsofcontractwillbebymonthlyinstalmentsandshallcoverallcostsandexpensesincluding
overheadandprofitsincurredbytheContractorincarryingouttherequirementsoftheConditionsofContractnot

agreementforthefacilities,services,etc.,whenfullyprovided.

B Theseinstalmentscanbesuspended,reducedordeletedfromanyContractPayment,ifintheopinionofthe
Engineer,theContractorisnotfulfillinghisobligations.

SECTION B - SITE WORK

C Allquantitiesforexcavationhavebeenmeasurednetwithnoallowanceforincreaseinbulkorworkingspace.
CommencementofexcavationshallbefromthelevelasstatedonthedrawingsandasleftbytheEnablingWorks
Contractor.

D Thetenderershallallowinhisratesforexcavationforexcavatinginanymaterialexceptrockincludingrunningsilt,
runningsand,commencingexcavationatanydepth,excavatingbelowthenormalwatertable,excavatingaround
existingservicesandmainssupportingtheverticalsidesofexcavations,workingspaceandfillingsoftspots.

E Ratesforallexcavationshallincludeforkeepingexcavationsfreefromwaterbywhatevermeans.
