Dear Parents,

Hi, my name is Mrs. McKinnis and I will be

working as a student teacher for the next seven
weeks in your child's classroom alongside Mrs.
Cowart. I am working towards a certification
teaching grades K-5. This is the final semester of
my training as a teacher. I have had experience
student teaching with Kindergarten. After
student teaching at Bettie F. Williams, I will be
teaching 2nd grade at Deep Creek Central
Elementary. From there, in December, I will be
graduating from Regent University with a degree in
Interdisciplinary studies. I'm looking forward to this unique
learning opportunity in your child's classroom.

I will be working with the students in your child's class in

various capacities both with small and large groups in math
and science activities. I will gradually increase my
responsibilities with the students over the course of the
semester and conduct two lead teaching weeks. I'm excited to
work with your child this semester. Please do not hesitate to
stop in if you have time as I would welcome the opportunity to
get to know you along with your child.

This fall is going to be an explosion of learning both for the

students and myself! I am so excited to be teaching your
student. I cannot wait to get to know everyone!
