Richard Cordray, the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a federal consumer agency that was created with the help of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), received a message on his government email address with an offer to help with his potential Democratic campaign for governor of Ohio, which Cordray then forwarded to an unidentified address, the email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon shows. A government watchdog says the actions could be a violation of the Hatch Act.
