Install Remote Graphics Software (RGS)

MAKE SURE VPN IS INSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING RGS

Download the RGS Software and Install RGS Software


To download the RGS software, go to http://www.ecs.csun.edu/rgs/Software.html, then click on the
RGS (XP, Vista and Windows 7) link. This will download a le named RGS546WinReceiver.zip. Right
click on the downloaded RGS546WinReceiver.zip le and select the Extract To RGS546WinReceiver\
option. Then open the folder and double-click the Setup.exeexecutable to install the RGS Receiver
software.

Follow the instructions below for configuration

Click Next at the HP Remote Graphics Receiver Welcome screen.


Accept the license agreement and click Next to continue.
Specify the Destination Folder for the installation. The default location is usually acceptable.
Select "USB devices are Local/Remote"as the remote USB configuration option.
Select Yes for the Remote Clipboard Conguration option. Complete the installation.

Download the SAM Installer


To download the SAM software, go to http://www.ecs.csun.edu/rgs/Software.html and then click on the
SAM (XP, Vista and Windows7) link. This will download a le named SCW32-EN-3.2.1.msi. Run it.

Click Next at the HP Session Allocation Client (SAM) Setup Welcome screen Next
The default installation path is usually acceptable, click Next to continue.
Accept default option for Smart card.
Click Next to install the HP Session Allocation Manager.
The installation status bar will appear as seen below.
HP Session Allocation Manager is now complete. Click Close to close window.

Startup the HP Session Allocation Client from the Windows Start Menu

SAM Server: jd-rgs.ecs.csun.edu


Username: CSUN Username (ie abc12345)
Password: CSUN Password
Domain: CSUN
Uncheck Full Screen
Check Match Client Display
Set Color Depth to 32-bits via drop down list
Set Screen Resolution to maximum Possible Value via the slider bar

Click on Save Settings. The Windows Save As browser window will appear. Name the le
CECS.sam then save the settings le onto your Desktop.

Start the Cisco VPN and connect to CSUN. Double click on the newly saved HP Session Allocation
Manager setting le saved on your Desktop to connect to a CECS Lab system at any time.
