Background and Context:
Business & Technical Problem:
Broward College is part of a consortium of member colleges which uses HET Group (Higher Education Technology Group)
as its main technology partner. In early 2012, the HET Group was directed by the college consortium to develop a DW, Cube,
and dashboard using Microsoft tools, known as the Student Enrollment Dashboard (BI Solution).
The project began with a Pragmatic Works BI Blitz in May of 2012 and followed by additional consulting and development.
Version 1.0 was presented at the member college consortium technical conference in November 2012 and then released in
early December 2012. A detailed set of deployment instructions was created, in addition to the delivery of high level
training on both the BI Solution and the Microsoft BI stack.
Engagement Goals:
The purpose of this engagement is to assist Purchaser with implementation of the HETG Student Enrollment Dashboard at
Cypress Creek.
Agenda:
Week One:
o Mentoring for Purchaser on best practice implementation of the HETG student enrollment dashboard
o Implement ETL changes
o Enable Auditing, Monitoring and Notification in ETL
o Visual Studio tutoring specific to HETG
o Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) tutoring specific to HETG
o Mentoring on SSRS within the solution
o Exclude: Test Case Review.
o Exclude: Load Test (CONNX in particular).
Week Two:
o Based on the success of cloning the existing solution, assist with Production server build out (probably just SP
work).
o Except: replication running.
Deliverables
Onsite assistance, mentoring and verbal recommendations on implementation of the HETG student enrollment dashboard
at Cypress Creek
Project Management:
Every project has a Managing Project Lead (MPL) overseeing it and the delivery team is responsible to this person. The MPL is
actively involved with the following duties and responsibilities for the engagement:
o Initial project organization and kickoff
o Daily status review with team members including daily status report shared with the client team
o Weekly status calls with client liaison
o Management and resolution of roadblocks to progress with client
o Oversight of deliverables tracking, submission, and acceptance by client
o Contingency planning for unexpected events
o Resolving all client satisfaction issues
o Ultimate ownership of engagement success
Conditions:
To assure successful execution of this engagement the following conditions must be met:
1. Purchaser will provide access to the business analyst and subject matter expert(s) (or proxies) familiar with reporting and
analytical requirements as well as with the data sources that are in scope
2. Purchaser will provide read only access to data sources that are in scope
3. Purchaser will provide remote access infrastructure (VPN) and security credentials that allow the PWC consultant to connect
remotely via the internet for access to both internal and external data sources.
a. Purchaser will test the VPN accounts created for PWC to make sure those accounts have access to all items noted
above prior to the start of the engagement.
4. Purchaser will provide a project liaison person who can arrange or provide the following as needed:
a. Resolve unexpected access issues to data sources
b. Needed security credentials
c. Signed approval of Out of Scope work requests that Purchaser may make to the PWC team
d. Signed notice of planned access outages that will prevent the PWC team from working on the project
e. Accept project deliverables
Location of services:
Onsite work: Purchaser offices within the contiguous lower 48 US states
Remote work: PWC consultant offices, via VPN provided by the Purchaser and GoToMeeting provided by PWC
Duration
2 Weeks. Purchaser agrees to retain the assigned consultants for the full 2 weeks planned for the final schedule and agrees to pay
for those services according to the rates and terms contained within this document.

Extension:
If new requirements emerge during the engagement that Purchaser feels must be accommodated, this SOW/Engagement can
be extended on a time and materials basis with the mutual agreement in writing of both parties contingent on resource
availability at the time of the request for extension.
Maximum written advance notice of need for extension should be provided by the purchaser.
Note that if the purchaser wishes to extend beyond 12 months, PRAGMATIC WORKS may require, at its discretion, a new
statement of work with different pricing, terms, and conditions at that time.
Change Orders:
New requirements may also be implemented via Change Orders.

Our Consultants

Specifically, when a PWC consultant has been assigned to the purchaser for a period of six months or longer, PWC reserves the right
to substitute an equally competent replacement for that consultant. In cases where this is necessary, we will provide 6 weeks
advance notice of intent to do so and will collaborate with the purchaser to make the transition as seamless as possible.
Non-solicitation agreement:
Purchaser agrees that during the term of this Statement of Work and for a period of two (2) years thereafter, neither party shall not
without the prior written consent of the other party, solicit the services of or offer employment to any employee or sub-contractor
of either party.
