Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read the
instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didnt you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didnt study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didnt understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
 One of the reasons why I didnt study English it is because I thought my level was
good enough for traveling or working.

I didnt study English before because I didnt consider it so important for my future and
I was focused in many other things.

Another reason why I didnt studied English before it is because I preferred to watch
movies instead of studying.

future.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

If I had learned English some years ago, I would have saved a lot of time at university.
Because in university you have a lot of responsibilities.

If I had learned English before, I would have studied my career in another country.
One of the requirements was to speak English and my level back then was very low
for that.

I would have made more friends in Toronto if I had studied English before. Because I
didnt understand so much at the beginning.

If I had learned English some years ago I would have gotten a job Sofasa. One of the
requirements was to speak English or French and my level back then was very low.

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the

 Example:

Im studying English because I finally decided that if I want to improve my

professional profile becoming bilingual is essential.

Answers:

Im studying English because I finally realized that if I want to get a promotion

becoming bilingual is essential.

Im studying English because I want to travel to the United States next year.

Im Studying English because in this globalized world it is an essential to

communicate and success.

Im studying English because I want to travel around the world and learn from
many cultures.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

Example:

Being competent in English is going to increase the opportunities of landing a

more satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market
and English is the most important language.

Answers:

Learning English is going to help me to attain my goals and become the

person and the professional I have always wanted to be.

Being competent in English is going to open doors in an international open

market and cultures.

I am going to benefit, because learning English will give me the chance to

grow professionally and get better opportunities.

Learning English is going to increase my opportunities of getting a better-paid

job.
