From the ones seeking contentment

Not everyone is blessed with a good home, good education and a care-free childhood. Most of us
have had the privilege of being born into a family which inspires us to dream big and we are very
lucky that we have always got all the resources and opportunities to fulfill our dreams. But, there is
a certain section of society, less privileged than us, and often remains unnoticed. Yes, these are the
children from the poor and under privileged sections of the society. These children have an immense
potential within themselves, which is way beyond our imaginations. They have the much needed
talent within them with which they can touch great heights in their lives and live a dignified life as an
adult. Just their potential needs to be tapped effectively with appropriate resources.

A small group of people, who felt strongly about this subject came together and decided to render
their selfless services to this section of the society. Aaroha came into existence with the thought of
providing free basic education and a nurturing environment for the overall growth and development
of these children. As the name suggests, the organization is committed to the cause of enlightening
the lives of the poor children and driving them away from the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance.

Aaroha is not a group of wealthy and resourceful people. Instead they are the students of various
govt. and private colleges of Bhopal who have different aspirations, dreams and ambitions in life but
share a common vision.

We have a vision of building a strong foundation for the nation and to bring about a positive change
in the society.

 OUR MISSION

The motive of this organization is to promote the best interests and welfare of underprivileged
children by providing them good education and perfect environment for their overall growth and
development.

We, at Aaroha, help these children to realize their dreams, because we understand that our small
helping hand today would help them take a giant leap tomorrow. We have taken this noble initiative
on behalf of the whole society, to provide the children with all those resources they require to make
their dreams come true. We also develop their personality and academic abilities, so that they can
keep pace with the rapidly developing world. Our aim is to merge these children into the main
stream society, so that they also get an opportunity to see the world which each one of us sees.

We consider it our moral responsibility to bring a change in the lives of these children, since a life
lived for others, is worth living. The tremendous growth that these children show is enough to
ensure that the efforts one puts in do not go in vain. Their smile motivates us to do more and bring a
miraculous change into the lives of an even greater number of children.

Beginning from a small organization, our mission is to educate every single child we come across so
that no child is deprived of the basic right of education in the country.

It is true that a single hand alone can never do what many such hands can do together. We believe in
the ideology of all for one and one for all.

Aaroha has taken a small step to reach the roots of the society and is determined to remove all the
obstacles which hamper the growth of children. So, change is must and we are its crusaders.

The crusades of change at the organization are not the wealthy or resourceful people, but students
from various colleges of Bhopal. All of these students have diverse social and educational
backgrounds, have different goals, aspiration and motives in their lives, but they all share a common
vision. This is the main reason why they all of them work as a single unit for the organization. These
young students have got an abundance of energy, vision, time and dedication to stand up for such a
cause and so the organization chooses to work with them.

The organization owes it progress to its volunteers, who have been serving it right from day one,
without any self interest.

WHAT WE DO AT AAROHA

The very first objective of the organization is to provide education to the poor, illiterate and
underprivileged children. For this purpose, the organization holds regular classes for its children.

For the smooth functioning of the organization and for the effective implementation of the policies,
the entire workforce has been divided into a management team and a team of volunteers. Separate
verticals have been designed in to order to efficiently meet all the requirements of the organization.
These verticals are named as: Academics and Overall Development Department, Promotion and
Marketing Department, Community Fund Raising Department, Promotion and Marketing
Department, Tech Support Department, Human Resource Department, Public Relations Department,
Accounts Department, etc.

All these departments have individual heads who are free to take decisions regarding their
department, and a group of volunteers to assist these heads. In this way, a healthy work atmosphere
has been set up in the organization.

Apart from simply educating the children in a traditional way, the volunteers of the organization
regularly hold fun activities for the children at the centre. The children are also trained in other arts
like drawing, painting, dancing, singing, etc. The progress of every child is carefully monitored with a
progress report which is updated every month.

We also take the children on educational tours; recreation tours etc so that they get a clearer and
realistic view of the world around.

Our organization also organizes grand events for children on special occasions like Children Day,
Independence Day, Republic Day etc., where educational kits are distributed to these children. We
also celebrate all our festivals together, which include Christmas, Dusshera, Diwali, Onam, Guru
Purnima etc.

 OUR ASPIRATIONS

Aspiration is a hunger to fulfill our dreams and visions. When we aspire to a goal, that aspiration
guides our decisions and directs our energy. Quite often it also rallies others to the same goal, and
then becomes the focus of shared efforts and satisfactions.

One of the wonders of being human is our ability to conjure from our imaginations a better self or a
better world and to set off on a path. Some of our dreams are small and personal; others
encompass the whole of humanity. Each gives us a sense of purpose, an answer to the question,
"Why?"

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, Be the change you wish to see in the world

Aaroha has its aspirations clear before it - Try to set right the scattered little lives to maximum
extent possible. The passion in all the Aarohians is the same, the ways may be different. No child
should be denied the right to education just because he belongs to a specific section of society. With
this sole purpose in mind Aaroha is marching ahead. It aims at taking many more children under its
ambit, provide them with better educational facilities and spread the light of education much, much
far away.

It is our dream that no child in the country is left uneducated due to a lack of resources and we have
begun our journey to make our dream come true.

 MEET OUR CHILDREN

The children of the organization do lack the basic resources to fulfill their dreams but are blessed
with exceptional talents and immense potential that makes them completely able to compete with
any child in the country.

Their talents include dancing, drawing, painting and sketching, singing, poem-writing, public
speaking, etc. Each and every child at our center is equally talented and it would not be wise to
compare any two of them. Lets have small glimpse of some of our children who have left people
stunned with their in-built talents:

Pawan Rathore:
Pawan Rathore, a student of class IX, can be called a master of his field. Pawan is a gifted dancer and
his dance moves have earned a great name and admiration from people around. He has shown his
dancing talents from time to time and given some astounding dance performances in the events of
Aaroha. Not only this, his dancing talent has won him sponsorship from a famous dance academy.
Aaroha is thankful to Milind Dance Academy for identifying the talent in Pawan and providing him
with the much needed guidance to make him a successful dancer. All the best to Pawan for an
entirely new and promising journey.

P. Arti:
P. Arti, also a student of class IX possesses excellent singing abilities. Arti has a melodious voice and
is smart and confident. At such a tender age, Arti doesnt fear facing public and leaves people
mesmerized with her songs. Apart from this, Arti is also a good public speaker and an awesome
dancer. Arti, too has given some really stunning performances in all the events of AAROHA and
elsewhere. She is sure to win laurels in the world.

Siddhartha Bhimrao Lokhande:

Siddhartha, a student of class V, is an exceptional painter. Siddhartha is a perfect example of the fact
that talent has got nothing to do with age. He paints with sheer confidence and magnificent
imagination. He manages equally well with his studies, sports and other activities, and makes sure
that he devotes enough of his time doing what he really loves and excels at.

 EVENTS AT AAROHA

1. AAROHAS INAUGURATION CEREMONY

Aaroha had evolved with the elementary idea of transforming the lives of underprivileged children
and providing the much needed stimulus to their career. So, Aarohas journey of bringing a positive
change in the lives of deprived children began with the Indian tradition of worshiping God and
seeking blessings that the organization reaps success in whatever it does and attains great heights in
the days to come. The inauguration ceremony was organized at Aarohas Anna Nagar Centre in the
presence of all its founding members, volunteers and the children. The children prayed to God for a
successful life ahead and thanked him for giving them this life.

 2. AAROHAs GRAND AARAMBH

As is rightly said-

Well begun is half done

Undoubtedly, the most important aspect of any mission is its beginning. So, when we are about to
work on a mission as great as shaping the future of our country, then an astounding beginning is a
must. Aaroha made an optimistic start with a grand event Aarambh. The event was held on 31 st
July, 2016 in Aashima Mall, Bhopal and Pavan Jain (ADG) presided over as the Chief Guest on this
auspicious occasion. He distributed educational kits to the children of the organization to help them
study efficiently and realize their dreams. The Chief Guest was quite pleased to meet the children as
well as the volunteers, who serve these children selflessly. He also delivered words of appreciation
and motivation for the organization and wished it luck for a promising journey ahead. The event also
saw some sparkling dance performances by the volunteers and children of the organization.
Aarambh provided the much needed platform to the kids for showcasing their talents. The very
motive of the event was to make the day noteworthy for the kids and was exceptionally successful.
Aarambh not only provided the perfect beginning but also provided the much needed
encouragement to the organization. Drawing motivation from this event, the organization would
look forward to organize more such events in the near future for the betterment and upliftment of
its children. The various sub-events that made Aarambh a great event included:

 WEBSITE LAUNCH:

The official website of AAROHA was launched during this event at the hands of the Chief Guest. The
website is aaroha.org.in and can always be visited to get any information regarding the
organization, its members, activities, events or for contacting the organization.

EDU-KIT DISTRIBUTION:

Educational kits were distributed to children of the organization during this event. The kits
comprised of necessary study material for the children and would be of great help to them in their
studies.

 ROCK BAND PERFORMANCE:

To make the evening even more exhilarating, a rock band performance was given by the members of
Roobaroo, cultural society of MANIT, Bhopal. The performance earned huge admiration from the
audience and the entire mall was filled with the sound of applause. The children too were thrilled to
see such a performance for the very first time in their lives.

PHOTO BOOTH:

The organization also organized a fund-raising drive during the event with the help of a photo-booth.
Funds are meant to ensure the smooth running of the organization and are obligatory to meet the
study related requirements of the children. The photo-booth was the centre of attraction for the
audience present in the mall and people were really excited to get themselves clicked using our
super-cool props. The photo-booth was a huge success and turned out an efficient way of raising
funds for the organization.

 3. AAROHA KIDS AT MY FM

Aaroha took its children to MY FM and helped them participate in an intriguing program along with
RJ Puneet. People at MY FM were quite pleased to meet our kids and came forward on their own to
take selfies with them and handed them some chocolates too. RJ Puneet was glad to have hoisted
the show along with his little guests and also allowed the children to personally interact with the
followers of his show and talked in detail about the talents that these little kids possess. The kids
also participated in an innovative quiz round conducted by MY FM and earned peoples praise for
their intellectual and skillful thinking. The volunteers of the organization made the most out of this
small meeting and efficiently used this platform to raise awareness about the organization and
urged more and more people to come forward and assist us in our cause. The entire day was very
well spent and became one of the most memorable days of life for our kids.

 4. INDEPENNCE DAY TREAT AT
McDONALDS

We all celebrate Independence Day on 15th August every year by hoisting our National Flag and
showing our gratitude towards our country. But the true essence of this day lies in giving people the
freedom to live their life the way they want. Some similar gesture was made by AAROHA for its
children on this Independence Day. The organization took the children to McDonalds for a treat,
which was sponsored by Vidvaan Tutorials, Gwalior. The children whole-heatedly enjoyed the
toothsome meal and the smiles on their faces assured the Aarohians that their efforts did not prove
to be futile.

 5. ORIENTATION SESSION

The newly recruited Aarohians were invited for an 'Orientation Program conducted by the presently
operating Aaroha Team.
The detailing of the rules, duties and code of conduct was done by the management team.
It was then followed by a brief meeting taken by the respective vertical heads in which planning and
discussion on the job roles and tasks of each member was formulated.
We as a team of Aaroha hope to deliver our services to the society and especially to the children of
Bhopal in the best possible way.

 6. AAKAR AT MANIT

"Life is like a kaleidoscope. A slight change and all patterns alter."

'Aakar' was the Science Exhibition put up by our children in NIT-Bhopal on 21st & 22nd October
2016. The underprivileged children studying under Aaroha presented their science models. It was an
opportunity for them to develop their science skills & presentation skills. It was first ever time when
they faced such a big crowd. Aaroha aimed to help them build self confidence along with practical
learning through this Science Exhibition. It was a small step towards exploration, learning and
experience.

Along with this, the diligent team of Aaroha conducted a Pani Puri Competition giving a time of fun,
laughter & joy for the youth of Bhopal at MANIT Bhopal.
Aaroha feels extremely thankful for the support of it's entire team and the event visitors to made
this event a success.
We #Aarohians pledge to organize, conduct & present a good show for you to be a part in the
grooming process of these underprivileged kids of Anna Nagar.
At Aaroha, we try to bring a positive change and hope the lives of these talented children change for
better.

The idea of having an organization like Aaroha was indeed a very bold initiative on our part. But,
since its creation, the organization has always earned praise from all the people around and the
great personalities who personally come to meet our kids. The thoughts and opinions of every single

 HOW TO BE ONE OF US?
The vision of educating ever single child in this country is not a small one, and just a handful of
people might not be able to accomplish this task. More the number of people coming together, the
easier it would be to transform this vision into a full-fledged reality. It is an urge from the people
involved in bringing about a change in the society to the ones who wish to do something for others,
to come forward and help us in our endeavor.

To become one of us and lend a helping hand in shaping a childs future, join in with AAROHA and be
a part of this literacy movement.

Anyone who is willing to dedicate little of their time and effort in making a difference can register
with us to join our organization.

AAROHA recruits volunteers twice a year through Recruitment Drives (RDs). Interested students
need to fill up an online registration form and attend our RD. The RD consists of basically three
rounds:
