9. Write herons formula.
10. A coin is tossed 1000 times with the following frequencies: Head : 455, Tail : 545. Compute the
probability for each event.

Section-B
11. Divide p(x) by g(x), where p(x) = x + 3x2 1 and g(x) = 1 + x.
12. Find the remainder obtained on dividing p(x) = x3 + 1 by x + 1.
13. : Factorise 4x2 + y2 + z2 4xy 2yz + 4xz.
14. Write four solutions for each of the following equations: (i) 2x + y = 7 (ii) x + y = 9.
15. The taxi fare in a city is as follows: For the first kilometre, the fare is Rs 8 and for the subsequent
distance it is Rs 5 per km. Taking the distance covered as x km and total fare as Rs y, write a linear equation
for this information, and draw its graph.

16. In Fig. , lines PQ and RS intersect each other at point O. If POR : ROQ = 5 : 7, find all the angles.
17. In Fig. , lines XY and MN intersect at O. If POY = 90 and a : b = 2 : 3, find c.

18. . In Fig. , POQ is a line. Ray OR is perpendicular to line PQ. OS is another ray lying between rays OP
and OR. Prove that ROS = 1 2 ( QOS POS).

19. In Fig. , if PQ || ST, PQR = 110 and RST = 130, find QRS.

20. In Fig. , the side QR of PQR is produced to a point S. If the bisectors of PQR and PRS meet at
point T, then prove that QTR = 1 2 QPR.

21. Line l is the bisector of an angle A and B is any point on l. BP and BQ are perpendiculars from B to
the arms of A (see Fig. ). Show that: (i) APB AQB (ii) BP = BQ or B is equidistant from the arms
of A.

22. Show that the angles of an equilateral triangle are 60 each.

23. BE and CF are two equal altitudes of a triangle ABC. Using RHS congruence rule, prove that the
triangle ABC is isosceles.
24. Find the area of a triangle two sides of which are 18cm and 10cm and the perimeter is 42cm.
25. Find the area of a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 3 cm, BC = 4 cm, CD = 4 cm, DA = 5 cm and AC

elections:

(i) Draw a bar graph to represent the polling results.

(ii) (ii) Which political party won the maximum number of seats?
