1.0 INTRODUCTION

This Procedure covers all works required to do the Energization of the new switchrack X56 -SR-009 with
Saudi Aramco EWPD, SAPMT and SAPID.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

The dedicated scope of work for this procedure is to install a new switchrack and install all cabling
system.

The cable will be connected between existing 480V switchgear X56 SG - 002 to new switchrack
X56 -SR-009. (Refer to drawing: VA 014237.003.02A and VA - 280576.001.00)

3.0 SAFETY

CAT/SAPMT representative shall conduct a joint site visit prior to commencement of work.
Perform daily check up on all equipments on job site.
All workers should be using the proper PPE.
Working area shall be kept clean and daily housekeeping shall be carried out.
Barricade the area with proper sign boards/warning signs.

Job Safety Analysis (JSA) shall be approved by proponent prior to start the work. The permit receiver
shall jointly inspect the site visit with Saudi Aramco permit issuer in obtaining the work permit.
Qualified and authorized people are only allowed to enter the working area.
Proponent representatives should be present on site.
Electrical test equipments must be inspected and suitable for the job.
Verify the correct operation of the safety circuits in the equipment every time you calibrate it.
Follow all the manufacturers instructions and safety guidelines.
Wear insulation gloves.

4.0 METHODOLOGY

The below tests shall be done before Energization.

Results of LV Cable Testing


Results of LV Cables Torqueing
Results of individual breaker pre-commissioning testing
Results of ground resistance test
Energization package shall be duly signed by SAPMT, SAPID and Proponent
Before energizing the breaker, conduct a thorough inspection to make certain that all foreign
materials such as tools, scraps of wire and other debris are removed from the entire designated
cubicle. Remove any accumulation of dust and dirt
Check to determine that all grounding connection are made properly
Verify that all door and panel hardware is secure

Energization:
After visual inspection conducted, all parties agreed to start the energization, the following shall be made:

Remove the tags and padlock on the breaker


Close the desired breaker
Install safety signboard caution or warning switchrack energized 480VAC 3 PHASE 60Hz
