Task 1(a):
The Left () function in Excel allows you to move characters to the left of the text string.
The characters consist of digits and letters and this is a simple way to move characters.
It can easily be confused with Mid () and Right ().
Task 1(b):
The Mid () function moves characters to the middle of the text. This differs from the
Left () function because of where the characters are moved to. If you need to move a
text string from the middle text you would use the Mid () function.

Q1: The Financial Sector
Task 3(a):
Data validation rules restrict whether or not you can put information into a cell box and
the type of information that can go into it. Through my personal experience, date
validation rules helped me make sur I inserted the correct information and the
experience was not as tedious as expected.
