MINUTES OF OSADOLOR IMASOGIE BAPTIST ASSOCIATION YOUTH FELLOWSHIP 7TH ANNUAL

SUMMIT CAMP HELD FROM THURSDAY 6TH TO SUNDAY 9TH OF OCTOBER 2016
AT MESSIAH BAPTIST CHURCH, OKA 4, BENIN CITY.

DAY ONE: THURSDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2016


ARRIVAL/REGISTRATION
PRESIDING: Bro Joseph Amayo

Registrations of delegates commenced at about 4:00pm. The summit was declared open by the president at exactly
6:09pm as the president called everyone to order. Opening prayer was said by Bro Solomon Emuobomen from
Amazing Grace Baptist Church followed by the praise and worship by the host choir led by Bro Solomon. The
opening intercessory prayer was said by Pastor Nelson Ebiwe.
HOST WELCOME/ADDRESS
The opening speech/introduction of guests was done by the president, Bro Samson Aiyagbonrhuo followed by a
drama presentation by the host youths.
A welcome speech was said by the host pastor Revd lucky Ikuero and the host Youth President, Bro Festus. They
appreciated the youths for making Messiah Baptist Church their host church and also said some words of prayers
for the youth.
THEME EXPOSITION
The Summit Pastor, Revd Rueben Emegha began the theme exposition from I Corinthians 12:12 (the Camp text).
He preached about the church and Christians, telling them not to partake in the carnality of the world or even in
some churches where these things are prevalent, we shouldnt welcome them into our living as it will corrupt he
heart of Christ we already have in us. He deliberated more and rounded off by praying.
RESOLUTION COMMITTEE
The resolution committee was set up by the vice president, Bro Roland Osemwengie. He urged the committee to
critically look into the camp to make resolutions and recommendations that would help better the camp. The
following were the committee members:
1. Bro Daniel Sunday- Amazing Grace Baptist Church as the Chairman,
2. Sis Agbonma Cynthia- Messiah Baptist Church as Secretary
3. Sis Queen Egbon- Ebenezer Baptist Church
4. Bro Egwim Shedrach- New Glory Baptist Church
5. Bro Agho-Nok. Osamudiamen- Central Baptist Church.
While the youths were getting ready for the refreshment, the president quickly announced the wedding invitation
of Pastor Nelson Ebiwe to be held on 6th November 2016. The section was declared closed at 8:00pm followed by
the refreshment.
EVENING SESSION
PRESIDING: Bro Stanza Jonah

OPENING:
The evening session of the programme kicked off at 8:45pm after the youths had taken their dinner. Bro Joseph
Amayo called the house to order. The opening prayer was said by the president followed by the praise and worship
by the host church. The host choir rendered their special number. The section lasted for 15 minutes with different
features taking place.
MESSAGE
The summit Pastor, Revd Reuben Emegha took his reading from Psalm 90: 14-17. His topic was Anointing for all
Satisfaction . He preached that the only thing that can help us as Christians to be satisfied is discovering our
purpose at the very early stage. Jesus discovered his purpose on time and he was satisfied. He deliberated more
and rounded off by praying.
COLLECTION OF OFFERING/ AFRICANA NIGHT
The offering was collected by bro Solomon Amayo with music led by the host choir.
Sis Cole Eghosasere was introduced as the presiding officer for the Africana Night. The judges were selected
comprising of Bro Akin Oshodi as the Chairman, Bro Roland Osemwengie, Sis Osahon Eribo and Sis Beatrice
Equavoen. The tribal dances were displayed followed by testimonies and comedy presentations. The mass choir
rendered their ministration titled God has given me victory leading to the end of the presentations.
The camp rules and regulations were read by the vice president urging everyone to stick to the rules. The closing
prayer was said by Bro Nelson Ebiwe and the service was brought to a close at 9:16pm.
The thanksgiving offering was collected after the end of the programme.

DAY TWO: FRIDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2016


MORNING SESSION
PRESIDING: Bro Eghosa Eribo

As at 6am, everyone had freshened up. The programs arrived few minutes later.
The opening prayer was said by Sis Restoration Omorodion from Saviour Baptist Church as the service started at
6:30am and praise and worship by the praise team.
The intercessory prayer was said by Pastor Ade Adedotun who also took the message. The offering was collected
by the president followed by the closing speech.
The closing prayer was said by Pastor Ade Adedotun as the first phase of the service was brought to a close at
8:44am.

The second session of the day started at 10:48am with opening prayer led by Bro Solomon Emoubomen followed
by the praise and worship led by Bro Efosa Izevbigie from the host church.
BIBLE STUDY/ QUIZ COMPETTITION
The bible study started immediately after the praise and worship session. It comprised of four classes with each
having its teachers.
BIBLE QUIZ COMPETITION
The Bible quiz competition started after the conclusion of the bible study class. The competitors included the host
church, Central Baptist Church and Amazing Grace Baptist Church. The competitors scored 15 points, 0 points and
53 points respectively in the first round while 7, 0 and 12 points respectively in the second round.
While the third round which ended with the host church scoring 10 points, Central Baptist Church 2 points and
Amazing Grace Baptist Church 18 points was still ongoing, youths from the conference visited the summit. The
total point at the end of the quiz was- Central Baptist Church: 2 points, Amazing Grace Baptist Church: 83 points
and the host church: 32 points. Thus Amazing Grace came out First followed by the host church and thirdly by
Central Baptist Church.
WELCOME OF GUESTS
The President, Bro Samson Aiyagbonrhuo welcomed the president of the Edo State Youth Conference, Bro Nelson
Ogbeifun who later introduced his entourage and appreciated the host youth association. He also deliberated on
the theme of the summit and urged everyone to be in unity even in all situations. He also announced the date for
the upcoming Destiny Night to be November 9th and rounded off his speech at 3:45pm after which he departed.
The second session of the service was brought to a close at 3:56pm after which the meal was served.

DAY TWO: EVENING SESSION


PRESIDING: Bro Stanza Jonah

The session started at 4:30pm with the opening prayer followed by the praise and worship by Sis Deborah from
Amazing Grace Baptist Church during which the guest medical personnel for the health seminar, Deaconess Mrs E.I
Cole Joined.
BAKING SEMINAR
The baking lessons taught by Sis Beatrice Eguavoen from Amazing Grace Baptist Church started after the praise
and worship was concluded. She focused her lessons on how to bake the Fish Roll and Sabisa. The lessons ended
at 5:42pm.
HEALTH SEMINAR
The health seminar was taken by the guest lecturer, Deaconess Mrs E. I Cole. Her topic was The Kidney. She
taught with various helpful tips on how to care for the Kidney and also how to prevent kidney diseases. She
entertained question s from the class members and rounded off with prayers by Bro Theophilus Uwanogho at
6:23pm.
The camp song and hymn led by Sis Deborah followed immediately after the conclusion of the seminar
The message followed immediately after the seminar session as the summit pastor, Revd Reuben Emegha took the
message just after the host choir rendered their ministration. He took his texts from many books of the bible but all
centred on the camp theme. He preached how the whole body functions because of the unity of each parts carrying
out their own part of the general task of the body. He urged the youths to emulate such unity in order to grow in
strength and otherwise. He deliberated more and rounded off with prayers at 6:52pm.
The offering was collected by Bro Joseph Amayo followed by the closing speech and prayers by the president as the
session was brought to a close at 8:04pm.

DAY THREE: SATURDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2016


MORNING SESSION
PRESIDING: Mr Osaigbovo Osamudiamen
OPENING:
The session started at 6:17am with the opening prayers said by Bro Joseph Amayo and praise and worship by Sis
Deborah and Sis Gift.
SIX HOURS WITH GOD/PRAYER SESSIONS:
He guest preacher, Rev Ikuero Lucky was introduced as he took his text from I Corinthians 12:12. He lamented on
the power of unity. He continued as he urged the youths to be united for the greater good despite the differences
we may have as humans. He deliberated more and rounded off with series of prayers.
The prayer secretary, Bro Osamudiamen O.O took the house on prayers for another minutes through the prayers
session during when another guest Minister, Pastor Igbinomwanhia Humphrey joined the summit. This lasted for
about 30 minutes after which the third phase of praises led by Sis Deborah started.
Pastor Igbinomwanhia Humphrey took his preaching from Zechariahs 1:8-2 with his topic being, Overcoming
Satanic Strongholds. He dwelled on the topic and ended with prayers.
The next phase of the prayer session was taken by Pastor Wisdom Aimuiwu which ended at 11:06pm.
The message followed after the prayers session, Revd Chris Osagiede took the message, with his text taken from I
Corinthians 12. He lamented on the need for every Christian, whether in same church or organisation to be united
and grow in love, not keeping records of wrongs. He emphasised more on the topic and rounded off by praying.
The session was brought to a close a 12:10pm with the closing prayer said by Pastor Reuben Emegha.

AFTERNOON SESSION
PRESIDING: Mr Roland Osemwingie
The afternoon session started with the evangelism /two by two witnessing around the camp environment. This
lasted for 30 minutes after everyone returned back to the church.
SINGLE SEMINAR
The section started as the youths were gathered for the seminar. The session was led by the host pastors wife, Mrs
Faith Ikuero. She dwelled on the topic True Love Waits. She taught one the rewards for waiting for marriage
before indulging in sexual activities with ones partner. She mentioned that if a youth tends to do otherwise instead
of waiting, there are consequences that follow whether now or later in the future ranging from unwanted
pregnancy to STDs. She elaborated more and took the house through the questions/ answers section in which she
answered questions asked by the youths present. She ended the session with prayers afterwards during which the
Moderator of the association walked in.
MODERATOR/ ADVISERS WELCOME
The moderator of the association, Revd Pius Ehi Egbon appreciated the executives of the youth fellowship for the
job well done and for the plans that were put in place for the campers. He delivered his speech and said a word of
prayer for the youths.
The adviser, Rev Dr T. Olu Abiunomo also gave his speech on how the body of Christ can move when we are united.
He also spoke on the need of going for evangelism to win souls for Christ just as we have been won to Him. He
deliberated more and rounded off by praying.
FISH POND SEMINAR
The seminar held with the youths present in attention as the teacher taught on how to rear cat fish in local pond
and how lucrative it is in Nigeria today. He taught for almost an hour and entertained questions from class
members after which he rounded off at 5:46pm after which the praise team led the house on another short praise
session.
CREDENTIAL REPORT
A total of 108 delegates registered for the summit. Amazing Grace had the height number of delegates followed by
Central and CKBC.
The financial secretary, sis Valentina Abednego presented the attendance in which she listed the churches and
delegates sent as follows.

BUSINESS SESSION
The president declared the business hour opened at 6pm with an opening prayer. He continued immediately into
the reading of the reports from CKBC as he expressed his joy over the accomplishment of the fellowship to raise
CKBC through the power of God to what it is now.
However, he also mentioned the challenges faced by the youth body and urged every member to do their best in
contributing to the growth of the fellowship.
The chairman of the committee, Bro Sunday Daniel from Amazing grace presented his report appreciating the
Camp pastor, Programme designer, the campers and the welfare department for their effort. He however listed
some errors observed during the camp as follows:

He concluded by moving for the acceptance as the report. It was seconded by Bro Andrew from Amazing Grace
Baptist Church.
The president appreciated the committee for the job well done as he expressed his disappointment at
fellowship presidents for not mobilising their members for the quiz competition.
Bro Joseph Oladejo, chairman of the constitution review and amendment committee presented the amended
constitution and according to him, This is to ensure that the body that has been built in years dont crumble in a
blink. The committee comprised of Bro Joseph Oladejo as chairman, Bro Eghosa Eribo as secretary and Bro Joseph
Amayo as member. The constitution was unveiled as he urged members to show interest in purchasing the
constitution in order to blend in with the rules of the youth association.
The price for the book was set by the executive committee to be One Hundred and fifty Naira ( N 150) per copy in
order for it to be accessible by everyone.
Upcoming Recommendation:
1. First Baptist Church to be the next venue for the next summit camp in 2017.
2. CKBC: due to the poor response of fellowships towards the Operation Mould a Block initiative, the EC has
mandated all fellowships members to either submit their blocks or the financial equivalent.
TRIBAL DANCE COMPETTITION
The show started with each participating tribes divided into their groups. The groups comprised of the Binis who
later scored 15%, the Esans with 28%, Pidgin with 79% and Urhobo with 31%. The pidgin dance group was
selected as the winner.
CLOSING
The vice president, Bro Roland Osemwengie appreciated everyone present including the executives and members
and guests for their support towards the camp, making the programme a success.
The closing prayer was hence said by the president at 12:25am and everyone departed to rest for the night.

DAY FOUR: SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2016


DEPARTURE
PRESIDING: Mr Oladejo Joseph

The service started with the Sunday school which began at 8:07am after individuals observed their quiet time and
had freshened up. The opening prayer was led by Bro Solomon Amayo who also took the Sunday school. The topic
was Builder of the house. Other classes were held including the language and children classes.
The focus of the Sunday school was acknowledging the fact that a hose built on a wrong foundation cannot stand.
Therefore we are to build our houses (life) on Jesus Christ who is the only true rock. He alone can sustain our
building when the storm comes.
The classes continued with interactions with members after which the classes ended at 8:47am. The prayer of
appreciation was said by Bro Joseph Amayo.
The main service stated with the Call to Worship taken by the host pastor and the hymn and praise session by the
host youths. The scripture reading was taken by the secretary, Bro Jefferson Iyobosa after which the host pastor
dwelled on the message which he titled One body in Christ. He urged the youth to work together for the growth of
the body of Christ, not minding the variance we all have as humans. He deliberated more on and rounded off with
prayers.
Prayers were offered by the church on behalf of the newly elected officers of the association who would pilot the
affairs of the fellowship for the next two years after which the closing speech was given by the president. He
appreciated everyone including the summit pastor, the guest ministers and the campers who took their time to be
at the camp. He afterwards declared the 8th Annual Summit of the fellowship closed at 11:37am, wishing everyone
a safe trip back to their various places.
The closing hymn was led by Bro Efosa Izevbigie titled Pass me not. The closing prayer was led by Revd Osahon
Igbinidu followed by the benediction by the host pastor. The service was brought to a close at 12:00 noon. The
refreshment was taken as everyone was getting ready to depart.
