Problem Management
Responsibilities are opening packages of pap specimen sent from doctor offices/ hospitals,
checking that all demographics for the patient(s) is correct before processing
Performing customer service duties by calling clients and or doctors to resolve any problem or
issue with patient's information or specimen
My duties include but are not limited to accessioning and processing all GYN and Non- GYN
specimens, staining all GYN and Non- GYN specimens, cover slipping as well as making labels,
label slides and verifying patient's identification with requisition and corresponding slides.
Other duties printing of the daily molecular and cytology log of cases processed and accessioned
Process urinalysis cell blocks for Pathologist and accessioning of all cases

Supervise and train full and part-time staff as well as TESST College extern students in
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability (HIPAA) operations
Supervise and train full and part-time staff in front office, outpatient and discharge practice
procedures
Perform efficient handling of all administrative duties as it relates to staff book keeping
Types letters and faxes information as needed for physician correspondents and patient
Verifies patient demographic information including insurance verification of HMO, PPO, and
Medicaid insurances prior to the patient visit
Receive and screens visitors and telephone calls. Intake of general demographic information in
person and on the telephone.
Collect Copayments, deductible payments and balances owed to practice on patient accounts
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety
Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP) regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations
(CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal,
State and local regulations
Manage document control system, including review and process of submitted documents,
tracking of documents through eProgesa system, assignment of correct personnel for review
and approval
Provide customer assistance in ordering blood products and supplies to help maintain hospital
inventory and returned blood products within regulatory definitions
Monitor temperatures for refrigeration and freezing units as well as blood products while
maintain temperatures consistent with internal and external regulatory requirements through
Computer Aided Manufacturing Systems (CAMS) software
Serve as a team member for Inventory Control consisting with Importing, Irritating and
Reconciliation of all blood, plasma, and apheresis products
