flushesandtheprevalenceofinsomniaforthewholegroupwas34.8%(31.038.895%CI).Theprevalenceof
insomniawas45.5%(37.951.495%CI)inthegroupofmenopausalwomensufferinghotflusheswhilstprevalencein
groupsinwhichhotflusheshadnotoccurredwas24.4%(19.729.795%CI).Hotflushesincreasedtheriskof
insomnia2.07times.Theprevalenceofseveredeteriorationinthequalityoflifewas17.2%(13.122.195%CI)in
womensufferinghotflushesand1.7%(0.53.995%CI)inwomenwithoutthem.Conclusions:Insomniaandsevere
deteriorationinthequalityoflifewasmoreprevalentinwomensufferinghotflushesthaninwomenfreefromsuch

studentsfromamedicalschoolinMedellinanditsassociationwithsociodemographicandacademicconditions.
Insomniaandsleepinesshavehighprevalenceandtheycauseseriousproblemsofphysical,mentalandsocial
health,oneofthemaingroupsatriskforthesedisordersarethemedicalstudents.MaterialsandMethods:Prevalence
studyin230studentsrandomlyselected.Forthescreeningofthedisorderswereusedthescalesofsleepinessand
insomniaofEpworth.Theanalyzeswerebasedonsummarymeasures,frequency,nonparametrictests,prevalence
andprevalenceratios.Results:Themeanagewas20years,theaverageofcreditsenrolledwas20,70%ofthe
populationwasinthebasiccycle.Smokingprevalencewas10%andconsumptionofalcoholof51%Theoverall
prevalenceofinsomniawas93%,beingmorecommoninmilddegree,itwaspresentedstatisticallysignificant
associationwiththepresenceofunderlyingdiseasesandsex.Theprevalenceofsomnolencewas73.5%beingmore
commonthemoderategrade,itwasstatisticallyassociatedwiththetrainingcycle.Conclusion:Thehighprevalenceof
bothsleepdisordersfoundinthisgroup,highlightstheneedtoimplementactionsofprimaryandsecondary
prevention,duetonegativesimpactsforeverydayactivities,academicperformanceandphysicalandmentalhealth.

whereconsensuswasreachedwere:cognition(100%)memoryandorientation(98%)lonelinessandconcentration
(96%)depression,anxiety,attentionandthinking(94%)insomnia,sadnessandselfcontrol(90%)confusionand
helplessness(88%)fatigue(86%)hopelessness(84%)selfesteem(82%)desolation,perception,communication
andwilltolive(80%)coping(78%)willpowerandstress(70%).Conclusions:thestudyallowedtheselectionofa

agedbetween11and29yearsold,single,unfinishedhighschool,unemployed,withtheiroriginsinSobral,andentered
intheCAPSADspontaneously.Thetotalperiodofconsumptionofcrackisabove5yearsandadailyfrequencyfor
mostofthecases.Theassociatedharms,inthemajorityofthecases,arerelatedtofamily.Inrelationtotreatment,
72%ofuserspresentedinsomnia,55,7%lossofappetite,81,2%didnotmakecomplementaryexams,41,2%were
internedfordetoxification.Conclusion:theobtainmentofmeaningfulresultsinthetreatmentofcrackusersdependon
theimplementationofpublicpolicies,themultiprofessionalinvolvementinthetherapeuticplanandtheinteraction

tocomparetwoproportionsinmatchedsamplesobtainedinthenursinginterventions.Results:theadverseeffects
presentedbytheclientsgroupunderanalysiswere:nauseas(14.3%),fatigue(14.3%),alopecia(8.6%),leukopenia
(5.7%),neutropenia(5.7%),cold(5.7%),mucositis(5.7%),anddiarrhea(5.7%)2.9%presented:fever,insomnia,
hyperpigmentationofthenailbed,andsorethroat.Thenursinginterventionsconcernedtheguidelinesonnutrition,
hydration,hygiene,careoftheskinandmucosae,rest,infectionprevention,andnotificationtothephysicianinsevere
cases.Conclusions:theresultsofnursinginterventionsappliedtotheclinicalmanifestationspresentedbythese

Everyspringtimethepatientassociatedinsomniaandtreatmentresistanthyperkineticbehaviouraldisturbancesasa
preludeofakineticcatatoniaepisodeswithintercurrentneurovegetativesyndrome(stereotypedmovements,sweating,
tachycardia,slightfeverandsevereweightloss).Adiagnosisofmalignantneurolepticsyndromewasmadeduringhis
thirdepisodezenith,andantipsychotictreatmentremovedthepatientmustbereadmittedtothehospitalaftersevere
behaviourdisturbances,whichremittedafterantipsychoticsreintroduction.Thepatientwassubsequentlydiagnosedof
periodicalcatatonia(bipolardisorderwithcatatonicfeatures)andputonlithiumcarbonatebasedtherapy,presenting
norelapsesinthethreenextyears.Discussion:Someseverementaldisorderscharacteristicfromthepre
antipsychoticeracanbestilldiagnosedaffectinginstitutionalizedpatientscommitinresidentialresources.Soinspite
