THE ORIGINAL CHEVRE CAMPAIGN

The Original Chvre is the U.S. campaign for French goat cheeses since 2012. its aim is to raise
awareness of the quality and varieties of French chvre, and of the centuries of artisan craftsmanship.
France is the country of origin for goat cheese and the #1 producer of pure goat cheeses in the world,
with 110,000 tons (over 242 million pounds) produced in 2016. Chvre in French simply means goat.
The Original Chvre is about authenticity, craftsman ship and variety. Of the 6,000 producers of goats
milk in France today, 3,000 make their own goat cheeses, and 3,000 deliver their milk to about 60
cheese dairies, making the varieties produced in France virtually impossible to count.
