SECTION 7 COMPREHENSION

In Lucknow, migrates who had been waiting for the train in silence leapt to
their feet when they heard it. They rushed toward the train as it slowed down, and
crowded around it . Before long , the train was moving toward Mumbai.
When night fell, the passengers settle in . Most were migrants--- most were
men. Some sat on wooden benches ---- others lay on the floor. A few climbed into
the luggage shelf near the ceiling.
New migrants spoke to the experienced ones.
Manu Gupta, fifteen, was travelling with a friend from his village. If he can find
work in Mumbai, Manu will become his family's breadwinner. "I'm happy, he said,
