Raschig rings are shapes of BENEFITS

tubular carbon used in quantity
to create a randomly packed
bed for various material pro-
cessing functions. The shape
of the rings provide a large
surface area for interaction
between the carbon and the
material being processed.
Benefits derived from the use
of carbon Raschig ring tower
packing include corrosion
resistance, thermal shock re-
sistance and high temperature
stability.
Low coefficient of thermal expansion;
resists damage caused by severe shocks
May be used in most acids, alkalies and
solvent environmentsnot recommended
in highly oxidising conditions
Lightweight with high mechanical
strength, having no soluble bond
Long-life packing with high temperature
operating capabilities
Used in chlorine-hydrochloric mixtures
and phosphoric acid
Fully carbonised to eliminate extractable
impurities
