DISH GARDEN

I. OBJECTIVES:

1. To create a wonderful dish garden design representing scene in nature and a miniature ecosystem

2. Observing how different types of plant/soil components mix up

3. Understanding the ecological purpose of a dish garden

To learn the basic techniques of constructing and caring for a dish garden.

To know the ecological purpose of a dish garden

II. MATERIALS:

A. Dish Garden Materials

Round dish (8 x 14) Pebbles

Charcoal Gravel

Garden scissors Soil Mix

Garden gloves Decorations and Trims (Marbles, pot with cactus

& Toy)

Trowel Spinach Plant

III. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE:

A. Constructing Dish Garden

1. Gathering of materials

2. Wear garden gloves

3. Prepare round dish, charcoal and soil mix

4. Crush charcoal

5. Mix the soil and crushed charcoal then put on the round dish

6. Spread the soil and crushed charcoal until flattened surface

7. Use the trowel to uproot spinach plant

8. Put the stems of the spinach plant in the soil until it can completely stand

9. Design your dish garden by putting the other pebbles and marbles

10. Label and then submit to professor once completely constructed
