About Us

Avani is a company specializing in truly eco-friendly products based in Bali, Indonesia,

the epicenter of the battle against plastic waste. Assumed by most as a tropical island
paradise with pristine white sand beaches, the truth is that Bali's beaches are now often
saturated with garbage and debris, and the majority of this trash is single use plastic.
This epidemic spreads far beyond Bali, quickly becoming a paramount global

eco-friendly alternatives to hazardous products that can be used domestically and

commercially. With the co-operation of the service and food industries, tourist attractions,
event organizers and retail outlets, less toxic plastic will be consumed and discarded into
our critical ecosystem.

What materials does Avani use, and what sets us apart from other companies?
Here at Avani we pride ourselves on offering only the most eco-friendly green
options available. We feel that when dealing with something as precious as the
environment, there is no grey area. Its black or white: either a product is truly
eco-friendly, or its simply not. We search endlessly to find the best possible products
with the least carbon footprint on the market, and we will continue to update our
catalog with the most environmentally safe products available.

Takeaway Food and Beverage Packaging
Our Food and Beverage packaging are made entirely from renewable natural resources.
Avani's takeaway boxes are derived from bagasse which is the waste fiber from
sugarcane after the juice has been extracted. Historically considered useless and burned
to create air pollution, we have turned this waste into an amazing eco-friendly food service
product. Its a renewable resource that can replace paper, plastic and styrofoam, and it
requires less energy and natural resources to produce than conventional plastic.
It is biodegradable, compostable, food safe, and even microwavable. Bagasse can
harmlessly biodegrade in less than 90 days, whereas conventional plastic can take 500 or
more years to degrade, leaving toxic residue behind. It is certified internationally and has
become the gold standard of green packaging. As part of our eco friendly food and
beverage packaging, we also have cups and bowls derived entirely from plants which are
renewable. The lining and lids of these products are derived from Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) or
simply a fancier term for corn starch. Last but not least, are our wooden cutlery derived
from FSC protected forests. These high-quality cutlery have been proven as a more
effective and greener alternative compared to their plastic counterparts.
Moreover, they have obtained FDA and HACCP certifications.
The Last Straws
While most people dont assume that a simple plastic straw can be so harmful, it is
estimated that over 60 million plastic straws are thrown away everyday creating havoc
on landfills, waterways, beaches and marine life. The Last Straw is made from
FDA-approved materials and inks and are biodegradable, compostable, sustainable and
chlorine-free. A micro-thin wax liner makes them durable for hours.

chlorine free. A micro thin wax liner makes our paper straws durable
for hours, and can be discarded with a clear conscious.
