The plot
It is a autobiography and it shows the story of the author Drita Como. She was at Onkologjik
hospital in Tirana because of a bad illness. There is demonstrated how the communism works
and how his party destroy her family. She writes a diary about her entire life at the hospital and
all the visits she had from strangers and familiars. At the end she dies at the hospitality.

The Essay

Do you think that there was a similar event-and-narration story? What about the fact that it was
a longer process than in the real life? Are you sure that those strangers came more at the hospital
in the real time rather than in the narration of Drita Como? How could she write that book by
herself at that dangerous time? After all does that story express a similarity between the real
time and the fictional time? To my opinion there are differences between the real time and the
narrated time.
To start with the order of events is synchronic with the order of narration. In the sense that
she is writing her diary and everyday she had to write those events that went step by step and in a
simultaneous way with narration. She writes about her daily schedule the visits and all that
things. That is easily understood even when she writes the dates of everyday and what happens.
So what can be said is the fact that all her activities go side by side with the way she narrates at
the story.
Secondly, the duration of actions take more time in reality than in the narrated time. Some
important actions are passed by Drita and those actions would need more time in reality. Rrall,

processes as that of her operation need more time than a single line at the autobiography. What
can be said is that the actions take less time in the narrated time rather than in the real one.
Thirdly, the events are quite more repeated in the real time rather than in the fictional one.
The processes are somehow stretched as far as a week is stretched in only one short time in the

events. Also another instance is the case when she goes to the city twice in two days and she
merges them into one. It is easily seen that the events that she performed were really shorter
mentioned at the story.
The last but not the least, what is spotted is the first-person singular narrator. There is
always an I that tells the story and that one is the author itself Drita Como. She can be seen as
an insider as far as the story is been told by her. Since everything is written as a diary obviously

narrator.
To sum up, that autobiography is a kind of story that goes side by side with the narration.
The duration of events seems to be the same with the duration in the real time, and such
processes are repeated shortly in the narration. The only thing interesting is Drita Como s own
telling story. Do you still believe that there is no difference between the real life and the
narrated life?
