About the company:

Asian Paints is Indias leading paint company with a group turnover of Rs 170.85 billion. The
group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth,
and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint
manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries. Besides Asian
Paints, the group operates around the world through its subsidiaries Berger International
Limited, Apco Coatings, SCIB Paints, Taubmans and Kadisco.

Asian Paints manufactures wide range of paints for Decorative and Industrial use.

In Decorative paints, Asian Paints is present in all the four segments viz Interior Wall Finishes,
Exterior Wall Finishes, Enamels and Wood Finishes. It also offers Water proofing, wall
coverings and adhesives in its product portfolio.

Scope of the project:

The primary objective of this project is to understand the sales organisational structure of Asian
Paints, its value chain, challenges in deliverables as per customer needs both at distributor and
retailer end, distribution channel, retail initiatives, competitive profile and sales promotion
strategy.

This project is not limited only to above mentioned goals but can be extended to sales
forecasting depending on the availability of data.

Methodology:

It includes personal interaction with those who involved in the sales activities of the company,
interviews with channel distributors and retail store owners and personal visits to their
manufacturing plant situated in Rohtak.

The information gathered from the above route is primary research methodology which is
supported by secondary research data available through business catalogue and companys
website.
