Press Offense

Vs Half-cout Trap
This is our basic look. We come up the floor every time like this, trap or no trap. 5
x5
is our rim runner while 2 & 3 run wide. We are always looking for the 1-2 pass
3 regardless of the defense. Against a half-court trap we can usually get this after a
2
score because the defense is still getting set up. Even in a dead ball situation this
can happen if x4 is worried about 5.

If x4 cheats out to steal the 1-2 pass then 5 is open. 5 usually hits 3 with the
x5
diagonal pass, but depending on 5's abilities she might attack off the dribble.

If x2 squeezes in to cover 5 then the skip pass is open. Sometimes we have

x5
players that can throw that and sometimes we don't. The other option is reversal.
3 Ball reversal is our clue that we are now running basic offense with P&C rules. 5's
2
job is to get away from the ball. 1 cuts middle and 2 fills.

5 However, we almost never throw to 1 as the 4-3 pass is open. We look to hit 3
x2
x3
who attacks in a 2v1 with 5.
