2.EducationalQualification.Qualifiedin10+2/equivalentexaminationwithMaths&Physicsandatleastone
ofthesesubjects:Chemistry/Biology/ComputerScience.

3.Age.Candidatesshouldhavebeenbornbetween01Feb97to31Jan2001(Bothdatesinclusive).

PAYANDPERQUISITES

4.Pay&Allowances.

(a)Duringtheinitialtrainingperiod,stipendofRs5700pmwillbeadmissible.Onsuccessfulcompletionofinitial
traininganamountequaltotheminimumofscaleasmentionedbelow,lessstipendalreadypaid,shallbe
admissiblefromthedateofcommencementofservice.

(b)Oncompletionofinitialtraining,theywillbeplacedinthePayBandRs520020200.Inadditiontheywillbe
paidGradePay@Rs2000/plusMSP@Rs2000/plusDA(beingrevisedasper7thCPC).

5.Promotion.PromotionprospectsexistuptotherankofMasterChiefPettyOfficerI(equivalenttoSubedar
Major)withpayscaleofRs930034800plusGradePay@Rs4800/PlusMSP@Rs2000/plusDA(being
revisedasper7thCPC).Opportunitiesforpromotiontocommissionedofficeralsoexistforthosewhoperform
wellandqualifytheprescribedexaminations.

6.Perquisites.

(a)Duringtheentireperiodoftrainingandthereafter,sailorsaregivenbooks,readingmaterial,uniforms,food
andaccommodationetc.freeofcost.

(b)Sailorsareentitledtomedicaltreatment,LeaveTravelConcessionsforselfanddependents,GroupHousing
Benefitsandotherprivileges.SailorsarealsoentitledtoAnnualandCasualLeave,ChildrenEducationand
HouseRentAllowances.Postretirementbenefitsincludepension,gratuityandLeaveencashment.All
perquisitesareextendedasperserviceconditionsandtheireligibility/admissibilityisregulatedasper
governmentordersinforceandamendedfromtimetotime.

7.InsuranceCover.Insurancecover(oncontribution)ofRs37.50lakhsforallsailorsisapplicable.

8.SelectionofrecruitsisbasedontheorderofmeritontheirperformanceinWrittenTest,qualifying
PhysicalFitnessTest(PFT)andfitnessinMedicalExaminations.

9.WrittenTest.

(a)Thequestionpaperwillbebilingual(Hindi&English)andobjectivetype.

(b)Thequestionpaperwillcompriseoffoursectionsi.e.English,Science,MathematicsandGeneral
Knowledge.

(c)Thequestionpaperwillbeof10+2standardandthesyllabusfortheexaminationisavailableonwebsite
www.joinindiannavy.gov.in\.

(d)Durationofexaminationwillbeonehour.

(e)Thecandidatesarerequiredtopassinallsectionsandinaggregate.

10.PhysicalFitnessTest(PFT).PFTwillconsistof1.6Kmruntobecompletedin7minutes,20squatups
(UthakBaithak)and10Pushups.CandidatesundergoingPFTwilldosoattheirownrisk.

ADVISORY:Proficiencyinsports,swimmingandextracurricularactivitiesisdesirable.

11.MedicalStandards.

(a)Medicalexaminationwillbeconductedbyauthorisedmilitarydoctorsaspermedicalstandardsprescribedin
currentregulationsapplicabletosailorsonentry.

(b)Minimumheight157cms.WeightandChestshouldbeproportionate.Minimumchestexpansionof5cms.

(c)Thecandidatemustbeingoodphysicalandmentalhealth,freefromanydefectlikelytointerferewiththe
efficientperformanceofdutiesbothashoreandafloatunderpeaceaswellaswarconditionsasperNavyOrder
(Special)01/2008.ExtractoftheNavyOrdercanbeaccessedfromtheofficialrecruitmentwebsite.

(d)InitialMedicalExaminationforrecruitmentwillbeconsideredonlyProvisionallyfitsubjectto
fitnessinthefinalmedicalexamination.FinalMedicalExaminationofallselectedcandidateswillbe
doneatINSChilka.Candidates,whoareNOTfoundmedicallyfitinthefinalmedicalexaminationatINS
Chilka,willNOTbeenrolledfortraining.NoAppealispermittedforreviewafterthefinalenrolment
medicalexaminationatINSChilka.

Note:Candidatesareadvisedtogettheirearscleanedforwax,andtartarremovedfromteethpriorto
examination.

partofthebodyisnotacceptableandcandidatewillbebarredfromrecruitment.

14.Training.ThetrainingforthecoursewillcommenceinFeb2018,with22weeksBasicTrainingatINS
ChilkafollowedbyProfessionaltrainingintheallottedtradeinvariousNavalTrainingEstablishments.Branch/
TradewillbeallocatedaspertherequirementofService.

15.DischargeasUnsuitable.SailorsareliabletobedischargedasUNSUITABLEduetounsatisfactory
performanceatanytimeduringthetraining.

16.InitialEngagement.Theinitialengagementissubjecttosuccessfulcompletionoftrainingandisforaperiod
of15years.

SELECTIONPROCEDURE

17.Theapplicationsaretobefilledonlineonwebsitewww.joinindiannavy.gov.in\andallrequireddocuments
inoriginalaretobescannedanduploaded.Theselectionprocedureisasfollows:(a)TheOnlineapplications
alongwiththerequiredcertificateswillbesortedoutStatewise.Thequalifyingcutoffpercentageofaparticular
statemaybeincreasedifmorenumberofapplicationswithhigherpercentagearereceived.Shortlistingcriteria
willbebasedonpercentageofmarksscoredin10+2.

(b)CallupLetterscumAdmitCardforeligibleshortlistedcandidatesindicatingdate,timeandplacefor
recruitmenttests,whicharescheduledduringSep/Oct2017,wouldberequiredtobedownloadedfromthe
officialwebsitewww.joinindiannavy.gov.in.TheCallupLetterscumAdmitCardwillbetentativelyuploaded
onwebsitebyEndAug2017.NoseparateCallupLettercumAdmitCardwillbeissued.Candidatescanbe
allottedanycentreviewadministrativereasons.

(c)Alloriginalcertificates,marksheetsandNCCcertificate(ifheld)aretobeproducedatthetimeof
examination.Ifthedetailsprovidedinonlineapplicationarenotmatchingwithoriginaldocuments,the
candidaturewillbecancelled.

(d)Resultsoftheexaminationwillbeannouncedonthesamedayandthosewhoqualifyexaminationwill
undergoPFTandRecruitmentMedicalExamination(Preliminary),whichmaytake12days.

(e)CandidatesdeclaredTemporaryMedicallyUnfitintherecruitmentmedicalscanavailspecialistreviewfrom
thespecifiedMilitaryHospitalwithinamaximumperiodof21days.Nofurtherreview/appealispermissibleif
declaredunfitinthespecialistreview.

(f)CandidatesdeclaredPermanentMedicallyunfitintherecruitmentmedicalcanappealforspecialistopinionin
aMilitaryHospitalonpaymentofRs40/byMilitaryReceivableOrder(MRO)onGovernmentTreasurywithin
21days.MedicalfitnesscertificateotherthanthatofthespecialistopinioninaMilitaryHospitalwill
notbeconsidered.Nofurtherreview/appealispermissible.

(g)Ameritlistwillbepreparedfromallthecandidateswhoqualifyinallrespectsdependinguponvacancies.
Thisselectlistwillbeavailableonwebsitewww.joinindiannavy.gov.inon21Dec2017.Allcandidates,whose
namesappearintheSelectlistandhavebeendeclaredprovisionallymedicallyfitinthePreliminaryRecruitment
Medical,wouldberequiredtoreportatINSChilka.Theselectionofacandidatewillstandcancelledandhewill
havenoclaimforenrolmentintheIndianNavyincasethecandidatefailstoreportonthedateandtime
mentionedincallletterforfinalmedicalexaminationforenrolment.However,enrolmentwillbesubjectto
FitnessinEnrolmentMedicalatINSChilka.

(h)Thecandidatesselectionpertainingtoaparticularbatchisvalidforthatbatchonly.Qualifiedcandidates
whosenamesdonotappearinthemeritlistcannotclaimadmissionforthenextbatch.Thesecandidateswill
havetoundergotheselectionprocedureafreshprovidedtheymeettheeligibilitycriteriaforthefreshbatch.

(j)CallletterforFinalMedicalexaminationwillbeforwardedonlytomedicallyqualifiedcandidatesintheselect
list.Unsuccessfulcandidateswillnotbeintimatedseparately.

(k)AllselectlistedcandidatesreportingatINSChilkaforfinalmedicalsandenrolment,aretoproducetheself
attestedcertificatessubmittedatthetimeofsubmittingtheonlineapplication,alongwiththeoriginalcertificates.
Ifthedetailsprovidedduringonlineapplicationstagearenotmatchingwiththeoriginalcertificates,the
candidaturewillbecancelled.

(l)AllselectlistedcandidateswillalsobeforwardedPoliceVerificationformalongwiththeCallletterforfinal
medicalexamination.ThecandidateswillberequiredtosubmitthesametoINSChilkaaftergettingtheir
antecedentsverifiedonthisformfromtheconcerneddistrictpoliceauthorities.Candidateswithoutthe
verifiedpoliceverificationreports/reportswithadversecommentswillnotbeeligibleforenrolment.The
formatforthepoliceverificationformcanalsobedownloadedfromthewebsite
www.joinindiannavy.gov.inimmediatelyafterthedeclarationofselectlist,toensuretimelyverification.

(m)Noenquirywillbeentertainedregardingrecruitment/enrolmentafteraperiodofsixmonths.
