MISSIONARY COOPERATION PLAN
SPECIAL COLLECTION
This weekend is the special collection for the Mis-
sionary Co-op Plan. Each year the Archdiocese of Los An-
geles invites missionaries to come and share with us the
work of the Gospel being accomplished in the Missions. The
money collected goes specifically to each diocese or reli-
gious community making the appeal in the parish. The Mis-
sions depend upon your generous support. The envelopes
can be found in the pews and at the exits.
Registration Drive for Sunday School
Look for the colorful balloons in front of the
parish hall after all Sunday Masses. Come meet
our wonderful teachers at the registration drive
table for our religious education programs. We
will have an exciting year of Religious Education
Programs starting again in September! We welcome all children
from pre-school to 8th grade to be a part of this fun, spiritual, and
educational program that contributes to their religious upbringing.
Our children need to continue their faith formation after their First
Communion. In fact, we all have a lifelong journey of continuous
conversion, formation, and discipleship. Families will participate in
excursions, retreats and community outreach programs. Please call
Deborah at the rectory if you need more registration information.

Today’s Readings
First Reading -- Brothers and sisters of every race and
language will be brought to Jerusalem (Isaiah 66:18-21).
Psalm -- Go out to all the world and tell the Good News
(Psalm 117).
Second Reading -- Be strong and endure your trials as
the "discipline" of a loving God, for it will result in the
peaceful fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12:5-7, 11-13).
Gospel -- People from east and west, north and south,
recline at table in the kingdom of God (Luke 13:22-30).

Our beautiful Church is available for weddings and the Parish hall is

parish will host a Marriage Preparation class on January 29th 2011
for all those who are preparing for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Volunteers needed in our Religious
Education programs!
Be a teacher and help to spread the Gospel and
share our faith with our children! We need cate-
chists to teach preschool to teenagers in our
Religious Education programs. Please call Deb-
orah at the rectory or her cell at 310-871-9022.
Baptisms
We offer private, group Baptisms and Baptisms during
Mass. Our next Baptism Preparation class will be held in
the parish office on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4
pm. Baptism is a gateway to all the other sacraments.
Christ calls and welcomes our new family members into our
Church. It is a public declaration of love and commitment of the
parents and godparents. The children are initiated into the com-
munity, in the midst of the community, by the community. Please

RCIA {Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults},
Adult Confirmation, Adult Faith Formation.
This program welcomes all who are interested in con-
tinuous spiritual and faith formation. It is also for those
who are missing certain sacraments. It is a formative
rite to become fully initiated into our Catholic faith. It
is a spiritual journey for adults to experience many forms of God’s
grace. Our spirituality blossoms when we align our spirits with God.
Our first session will start on September 23, 2010.Thanks to the
following speakers who will be giving presentations on various in-
spiring topics: Fr. Paul, Dn. Tom, Fr. Patrick, Fr. Donie, Galen Gen-
try, and Jorge Maza.

Our beautiful church and parish hall are available

Teenage Confirmation
Don’t forget to enroll your teenagers, eighth
grade or older, in our Confirmation program. It is
the next step in completing the Sacraments of
Initiation. Confirmation here at St. Timothy is a
two year process. Understanding a sacrament
does not begin with the ritual, it begins with
preparation and catechesis. Through this sacra-
ment, they are commissioned to spread the Gospel and build up the
Church, the Body of Christ. The confirmed person is empowered by the
Holy Spirit to witness to the faith by living out the Gospel message.
Our Confirmation candidates will meet once a month on Sundays from
10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Please call Deborah at the rectory for registra-
tion information.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
We welcome all our children to join us in this wonderful
year round program. Your children will be invited at the be-
ginning of our 9:00 a.m. Mass to a fun and delightful journey
to learn more about Christ and His Church. All children are
welcome to bring non- perishable food and join in our gift
procession. Thanks to Barbara LaBrier, our catechist and
Michelle Morrison for their continuous support for this year
round program.
Shower the Unborn
Respect Life Month is coming up in October. We
need donations of wrapped baby gifts for newborns
to six months to assist the new moms at Saint
Anne’s Maternity Home. Please label the gifts with
a tag indicating the age and gender of the child.
New items such as clothing, blankets and toys, etc.
would be much appreciated for this wonderful cause. Please
drop-off the gifts at the Rectory. Please do not hesitate to call
