JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Adult Day Services is responsible for overall supervision and coordination of the
department, growth of facility and community resources, to provide comprehensive standards,
practices and programs that meet the needs and best interests of facility and clients. The
Director of Adult Day Services assures that the highest degree of quality client care, customer
service, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Direct Care Activities: To coordinate the development and implementation of a quality Adult
Day Services program to meet individualized physical, intellectual, emotional, social and
spiritual needs of each client. Support direct care services through staff and family
education, training, competencies, and quality assurance.
Customer Relations: Establish and maintain professional relationships with facility and
community health care professionals, clients, and families.
Employee Relations: Supervise staff, which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for
staffing, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal,
developing goals, and procedures to assure achievement of goals. Conduct or
coordinate new staff training and orientation to assure understanding of facility policy
and specific requirements including orientation. Participate in recruiting and
interviewing process to assure candidates meet the needs of the team, facility and
clients. Delegate to appropriate staff the administrative authority and accountability
necessary to perform their assigned duties.
Regulatory and Quality Compliance. Assures regulatory compliance within the facility.
Develops, maintains and periodically updates Adult Day Services policy and procedure
manual. Develops, updates and implements the Quality Assurance program in the Adult
Day Service department and assures the completion and accuracy of documents
pertaining to Adult Day Services in clients medical records.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Previous experience with the elderly and or individuals with physical disabilities in an
adult day program or long term care setting
Current CPR and Basic First Aid Training
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maximize team interaction and contribution
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to instruct and supervise personnel to assure adequate and competent client
care
Good customer service and employee problem resolution skills
Manages multiple priorities and manage time effectively within a flexible schedule
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Bachelors degree
Two years supervisory or management experience
Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards governing adult day services
Knowledge of documentation and care plans
Knowledge of community resources
Possess a valid Class D drivers license
