In all diesel engines, the particulate filter has a single
pressure sensor.
The G450 exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 disappears,
as an optimisation measure.
Only the G505 differential pressure sensor is used, and
it is now of the SENT type. This sensor measures the
differential pressure between the particulate filter input
and output.
Furthermore, this type of signal can send the
differential pressure value, check its plausibility and
diagnose possible faults.

cooling of the turbocharger being reinforced with
additional coolant-based cooling.
For this purpose, the turbocharger has been inserted
into the heating micro circuit.
Oil cooling Moreover, to prevent the oil from crystallising after the
engine stops, coolant is run through the turbocharger
using the V488 backup pump for heating.

SENSOR 1
In the engine with identifying letters DFHA, the
sensor is now a thermoelement, instead of an NTC
sensor. This delivers greater efficiency in areas where
temperatures can surpass 800C.
The thermoelement is comprised of two contact
materials (nickel and chrome) and analysis electronics
separate from the measuring point. Voltage is
generated between the two materials when there is a
temperature difference between them.
The analysis electronics analyse this tension and
transform it into a SENT signal.

ENGINE/GEARBOX ASSEMBLY

DSG 0GC AUTOMATIC GEARBOX 1

The new 7-gear DSG 0GC automatic gearbox

combines the comfort of an automatic gearbox with the Parking lock
resilience of a manual one.
The DSG 0GC automatic gearbox is available in the
front-wheel drive version and for 4Drive.
The DSG 0GC automatic gearbox is comprised of:
// Dual clutch.
// Mechanical components.
// The mechatronic unit.
Output shaft 1
The dual clutch is of the oil-bath multi-plate type and
drives the mechanical pump for the gearbox oil.
The mechanical components of the DSG 0GC automatic
gearbox feature:
// 2 input shafts.
// 2 output shafts.
// 1 parking lock. Input shaft 1
// 1 differential.
This gearbox is characterised by not having an inverter
shaft for reversing. When reverse is engaged, the
power flow passes from input shaft 2 to output shaft 1
through the second gear free-wheel on output shaft 2,
which acts as a reverse gear wheel.
The Mechatronic unit controls the DSG automatic
gearbox and has electronic and hydraulic components.
The Mechatronic unit shares oil with the gearbox
internal components.
In the 4Drive version, the transfer box is connected to
the differential cage. Output shaft 2
The automatic gearbox has two oil pumps: one is
mechanically actuated and the other is electrically
actuated. The electric pump works to generate oil
pressure when the start-stop function is in operation.

In order to reduce NOx emissions in exhaust gases,
the ATECA with diesel engines and 4Drive requires the
use of the second-generation SCR system. The system
Boca de llenado de Adblue
injects Adblue between the catalytic converter and
the particulate filter in order to reduce the NOx in the
exhaust gases and transform it into N2 and H2O.

ADBLUE SUPPLY SYSTEM

The Adblue filler neck is located next to the fuel filler
neck.
The Adblue tank is located behind the fuel tank, and
has a capacity of 11 L.
The tank contains the GX19 reducing agent dosing
system delivery unit.
The J891 reducing agent heating control unit is

The J623 engine control unit assumes the following
functions of the SCR system:
// Adblue dosing.
// Heating.
// Monitoring the degree of efficiency.
// Dash panel indicators management.
These functions are described in detail below.

34
PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATION
The electric motor is excited to close the parking brake. Brake pad
Compressor nut
The electric motor drives the spindle via a geared
reduction and moves the compressor nut located on Brake disc
the spindle thread forward.
The compressor nut comes into contact with the inner
front surface of the brake piston and presses the it
against the brake pads. The brake pads press against
the brake disc.
The pressure causes an increase in the current
absorbed by the electric motor. In the course of this
process, the electromechanical parking brakes
control unit measures the current absorbed by the
electric motor. When the absorbed current surpasses
an established value, the control unit cuts the power
supply to the electric motor. Spindle

TYPES OF BURNER
The stationary heating burners are made by Webasto
G189 (PTC) overheating sensor
and deliver a maximum power of up to 5,000 W. There
are two types, depending on the fuel used:
// Thermo Top V. (Petrol)
// Thermo Top Vlies. (Diesel)
// Thermo Top V
Heat exchanger inner wall The heating receives fuel through the fuel inlet. The
fuel inlet reaches the Venturi nozzle.
The air required for combustion is taken in through the
V6 combustion air blower.
Part of the intake air is channelled directly to the
Coolant Venturi nozzle. The air drags the fuel with it, which
is sprayed. The mixture is then transferred to the
combustion chamber, where the Q8 glow plug with
flame control ignites the mixture.
The second part of the intake air is led directly to the
Heat exchanger outer wall
combustion chamber to help in the combustion of the
mixture.
The coolant enters the dual-wall heat exchanger
through the coolant inlet sleeve. The coolant absorbs
the heat generated by the combustion of the mixture
through the inner wall of the heat exchanger.
THERMO TOP Vlies The heated coolant accesses the coolant circuit
through the coolant outlet sleeve.
Combustion chamber // Thermo Top Vlies
This type of heating for diesel combustion is an
evolution of the above-mentioned Thermal Top V.
The main differences are found in the combustion
chamber:
// New metal felt where the fuel is absorbed and
then evaporates.
// New air inlet designed to optimise the mixture.

1) The radio frequency remote control is outside the area of coverage.

2) The heating is locked. Possible reasons: The fuel tank is almost empty, the battery charge is too low or there is an
operating fault.
