Board members (and non-board members) positions and election

process
Convention 2017 Munich

Election of the New Board:

In light of the decision of the Board dated 12/09/2017, the election of the Board at the 2017
Convention in Munich will be done by lists.

In light with the by-laws (article 10.2) the Board must have at least one President, one Vice-
President, one Secretary General and a Treasurer. With the exception of the President and
the Vice-President two of those functions may be executed by the same person.

The following positions will also need to be elected at the Convention (but will not be board
members):

- Ombudsman
- Auditor

Call for candidates:

Dear members, after 1 year of mandate, Stand Up for Europe is due to renew its
Executive Board at the next Convention in Munich. Therefore, we open the call for
applications. The election of the board will be done as follows.
The election of the board is done by lists (i.e. tickets);
Each member of Stand Up for Europe can propose a list to run for election. .
Each list must include, at least the four positions: President, Vice-President,
Secretary General and Treasurer.

- Individuals who may not wish to present a list but may still want to be in the board
can contact the heads of the various lists in order to integrate a list already proposed.
- The team which will be elected the first weekend of November at the Convention will
be for a period of 1 year.
- The roles on the board require motivated volunteers committed to spending
meaningful time and applying professionalism to their respective functions on the
board. Candidates need to plan to spend on average a minimum of 8 hours/week in
their roles. Unless willing to seriously commit to this level of involvement for the full
duration of their mandate, members should abstain from submitting their candidacy.

Remarks:
Candidates need to present their application by the 30th of October 2017 by sending
an email to info@standupforeurope.eu motivating the reason for their application
and explaining why they believe they have the required skills and competences for
the role.
Candidates will present their applications in front of the assembly.
The General Assembly will vote for each list individually.

Voting process:
Number of voting rights need to be counted at the beginning of the session in order
to identify the amount needed for a majority.
According to the by-laws (9.13) a maximum of two proxies can be carried by each
member attending the convention.
According to the by-laws (9.14), the candidates have to be elected by majority voting
(absolute majority).
