STUDY OF GEOTHERMAL POTENTIAL IN PAMANDATI VILLAGE

SOUTH KONAWE REGENCY, SOUTHEAST SULAWESI PROVINCE

Abstract
Administratively, survey of geothermal is located in Pamandati Village,
LaineaSubdistrict, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Generally,
area of geothermal in Pamandati Village is located on geological setting which
dominated by sediment and metamorphic rocks and believed to a non-volcanic
geothermal system where geothermal source comes from structural indication and
residual heat from hot rock at depth. The phenomena of geothermal in this area
shown by a number of geothermal manifestations such as presence of hot springs
with expected temperature can reach around 80oCand alteration rocks with
characterized by a strong smell of sulfur gas. Study of geothermal in this area aims
to understand characteristics of the type of manifestation based on physical
characteristics, to know the origin of geothermal fluid, type of geothermal fluid,
temperature and pH, and to determine the geothermal potential of study area based
on geological and geochemical analysis of geothermal system.

PETROGRAPHY STUDY OF MARLSTONE IN LAWELE AREA

AS A RESERVOIR ROCK OF ASPHALT BUTON

Abstract
Administratively, the study is located in Lawele Area, LasalimuSubdistrict,Buton
Regency. The method of this study is conducted in several steps, they are: study of
literature, observation and collecting data in the field, and reservoir petrography
analysis. The objective of this study is to understand of porosity and characterization
of marlstone reservoir of Lawele Area based on observation of petrography thin
section to determine the feasibility as a reservoir rock of asphalt Buton. The
presence of marlstone in study area is from Sampolakosa Formation, ages from Late
Miocene to Late Pliocene, and based on observation in the field is founded of
asphalt seepage in the marlstone. The presence of asphalt seepage led to
speculation that marlstone which generally havelow porosity and permeability as a
reservoir rock but it can flow the fluid to the surface. Further study in area of study is
needed because the area has potential for hydrocarbon.
