obituary
Ms. Tanya Mishun Bledsoe Bell was born September 8, 1972, in Greensboro, North Carolina,
the middle daughter of Quincy and Margarett Ann Sanders Bledsoe. She was a product of
Greensboro City Schools and a 1990 Grimsley High School graduate. A 1995 graduate of North
Carolina State University in Accounting, she played the clarinet for four years in the Wolfpack
Marching Band. In addition, Tanya was a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Sweetheart
and a Fall 1993 initiate in to the Kappa Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated. She was an avid Wolfpack fan supporting her alma mater during ACC football and
basketball.

Tanya grew up at Woodmere Church of Christ and Wendover Avenue Church of Christ. She was
baptized on September 8, 1990; and in 2008, placed her membership at Coliseum Boulevard
Church of Christ, where she co-founded the PEARLS (Princesses Educated about Righteousness,
Leadership and Service) ministry. She was also involved with youth and kitchen ministries.
Tanya was an active member of the Beta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated, where she currently served as the Cotillion Committees Finance Chair. She has
also served as Chapter Treasurer, Cotillion Co-Chairperson, and on various sub-committees. She
was looking forward to 2018 to become a Silver Star and Life Member of her beloved sorority.

Tanya was employed in the Billing Department of Guilford County Department of Public Health
for the past three years, as well as an 11-year employee of Moses Cone Health Systems Patient
Access Department.

Leah Sweet Pea, Tanyas 13-year-old daughter, was the love of her life for she spent the
majority of her spare time ensuring her daughter participated in educational and social activities.
One of Tanyas favorite roles was being a Dance Mom, since her daughter loved to participate
in competitive dance.

Although Tanya seemed to be the quieter of her siblings, she was known for her infectious smile,
sense of humor, and compassion for others. She and her sisters shared a strong sisterly bond
like no other, and their relationship inspired all those who interacted with them.

Tanya was preceded in death by grandparents: George and Ida Mae Bledsoe and Lloyd and
Katherine Sanders; uncle, Lloyd Sanders, Jr.; and aunt, Helen Bledsoe.

Tanya is survived by her daughter, Leah D. Bell; parents, Quincy and Margarett Sanders Bledsoe;
sisters, Anissa C. Bledsoe and Kendra N. Bledsoe, all of Greensboro. Uncles: Horace (Renette)
Bledsoe of Hutto, TX; Garland (Debra) Bledsoe of Odessa, TX; and Travis (JoAnn) Sanders of
Dallas, TX; aunt, Ladell Smith of Dallas, TX. First Cousins, Lloyd Sanders, Autry Sanders, Antonio
Sanders, and Jillian Sanders of Dallas, TX; Nick (Nickie) Pannell of Sulphur Springs, TX; Horace
(Candace) Bledsoe, Jr. of Keller, TX, Latrell (Ashlea) Bledsoe of Odessa, TX; Terrance (Chrissy)
Bledsoe of Round Rock, TX; Niccole Bledsoe Boswell of Houston, TX. She also leaves a host of
extended family, friends, church members, sorors and co-workers that will forever cherish her
memory.
Dear Mom
I sit here and ponder how very much
Id like to talk with you today
There are so many things
That we didnt get to say.
I know how much you care for me
And how much I care for you,
And each time that I think of you
I know youll miss me too.
An angel came and took you by the hand, and said
Its your time to leave this earth, my love.
And you had to leave behind, all those you dearly loved
You had so much to live for, you had so much to do . . .
It still seems impossible that God was taking you.
And though your life on earth is past, now it starts anew
And though youve left your earthly home
We are never far apart
For every time I think of you,
Youre right here, deep within my heart.

Leah
Her Journeys
Just Begun
Dont think of her as gone away
her journeys just begun
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days or years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.
