Angle of deflection of diffraction Grating

Presumably the angle of deflection of various colours in the spectrum

depends upon the maker of the diffraction grating.

I have made a new spectrometer where I can measure the angle of

deflection for various colours of the spectrum of a diffraction grating
purchased from SciToys. Catalogue URL:

As I purchased this film a few years ago, I cannot guarantee that the
diffraction grating film now sold by SciToys is the same as the grating
that I tested.

I intend to do the same test with a diffraction grating purchased from

I have been able to correlate the angle of deflection with the frequency of
the light in the spectrum by using various laser light pens.

I intend to do a test with a CFL bulb, the spectrum of which seems to be

well known, particularly the mercury lines.

I hope to be able to do a test with a triangular glass prism, if I can fit the
prism inside the spectrometer.
