Finance Analyst Control

Purpose of role:
The Control Analyst reports directly to the Control & Compliance
Manager and is responsible for tactical execution of planned actions
aimed at ensuring compliance with Company policy on key
commercial & financial processes. He/She will provide guidance on
decisions around accounting policies and procedures interpretation
as well as process re-design and will consult with the Control &
Compliance Manager on any process changes or accounting policy
application.

Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role


Delegation of Authority
Review and advise on application of Group Delegation of
Authority(DOA) standards through consultation with Group
Control
Timely update of SAP & DOA website for changes in BU DOA
Execute actions on approved remediation plans to improve the
level of DOA
Accounting Policy
Assist with preparation of position papers
Review evidence that policy changes & GRM updates have
been implemented
Support relationship with APDT on key accounting
clarifications/reviews and follow-up on actions
Compliance & Control
Network with Segment Control to ensure alignment of BU
control activity to Segment & Group Plan
Support CET Owners with ongoing monitoring, control
design/CET reviews, gap reporting & remediation and FCM
technical assistance
Organize meetings and evidence for CAR and IA reviews,
follow up on gap remediation and obtain evidence
Review SPU gap tracker and follow-up on remediation plans.
Perform audits in specific risk areas and follow-up remediation
Identify standardization and simplification process
improvements
Maintain BU access to FCM
Contract Audit
Assist in information generation for TCC
Perform contract compliance work on major and minor
vendors
Monitor and report on P2P and contract non compliance
metrics
Due Diligence
Coordinate the quarterly Due Diligence meeting and inputs
from PUs & Accounting
Complete draft DD templates for review with Head of Financial
Operations
Follow up on DD action items
Fraud
Assist with BU Fraud Awareness initiatives
Implement approved actions for fraud detection, prevention
and reporting.

Experience & Expertise


Educational background
Professional Accounting qualification(ACCA) or a Accounting
degree from an accredited University

Experience (years and nature)


A minimum of 5 years experience with at least 2 years audit
experience
Strong technical skills including good understanding of GRM
and GIAAPs
Experience in an Oil and Gas operating environment
Knowledge of Oil & Gas accounting
Knowledge of Oil & Gas commercial activities

Other
Demonstrated track record of delivery
Well developed and proven analytical and problem solving
skills
Strong Excel skills
Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
Ability to work well with Financial Operations personnel and
Segment level personnel
Knowledge of bpTT operations and value chain
