THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE

RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

One of the issues or problems that we encountered or facing right now is the
need to raise employee productivity. There is a widespread belief that productivity
improvements can only be achieved through a fundamental reform in the area of employee
relations.That is why I chose this topic because employee relations is very important in an
organization or in the workplace. An individual spends his maximum time at the workplace
and his fellow workers are the ones with whom they spends the maximum hours in a day.
There are some barriers to good employee relations are lack of trust in others, selfish
attitude, too many self-serving motives, lack of good self-esteem. The top problems that
affect employee productivity are the financial stress, job security, and the illness. Changes
are thought to be necessary both in the organization and structure of work and in the way
in which employees are trained, remunerated and motivated.

We conduct our research at Sofia Bakeshop at Minglanilla. Sofia Bakeshop is


the first branch in Cebu located in Minglanilla. We need to be addressed this research for
the selective employees. For their potential response in dealing this research to know if how
does employee productivity affects and also their employee relations.

Employee relations applies to all phases of work activities in organizations,


and managers, to be effective, must be able to encourage good employee relations among
all human resources under the due care. The quantity and quality of an employees
relationship wih others determine social support. Therefore, it is safe to say that without
social support, effective employee relations is not possible,and without effective social
realtionship, social support likewise, is not possible. Employees are among an organizations
most important resources and coined as most valuable asset. An effective employee relation
involves creating and cultivating a motivated and productive workforce.

The relations between company management and employees can have a


profound effect on the success of a business. Good employee relations can help an
organization avoid conflicts and increase a sense of teamwork on the job for employees.
Company efforts to improve employee relations can improve the overall quality of work. Just
as high employee morale encourages increases in productivity, it also encourages quality
work. Employee relations programs that encourage loyalty and improve the quality of the
work.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and to identify ways employee


relations affect productivity,and how to improve productivity in an organizations. This
research is important in our society to know that it is important to have a good relationship
with everyone and to have a good quality and a good results in their productions. Every
individual at the workplace shares a certain relationship with his fellow workers. Human
beings are not machine who can start working just at the push of a mere button. They need
people to talk to, discuss ideas with each other and share their happiness and sorrows. An
individual cannot work on his own, they needs people around. If the organization is all empty,
You will not feel like sitting there and working. Employee relations practices affect
productivity through employee morale, quality and quantity of output or products. The most
valuavle recommendation given is to treat employees with great care.
