Lifting Operations Manual Handling

Follow these rules during lifting operations:
Inspect lifting gear and lifting machine before use.
Use only approved rigging equipment.
Use proper rigging technique.
Never overload the lifting gear or lifting machine.
Lifting must be done gradually with the load lifted 1~2 inches
off the ground initially to check stability.
Never stand under a suspended load.
Lifting crew must understand their specific duties and
responsibilities and must stop any lifting work if an unsafe
condition is identified.
Always insert padding or use lifting frame to prevent severe
bending or breakage of sling.
