STAGE TWO : GETTING TO THE PLAN OF WRITING
Thesis Statement:
A thesis statement focuses your ideas into one or a few sentences. It should present the topic
of your paper and also make a comment about your position in relation to the topic. Your
thesis statement should tell your reader the purpose of the paper and what the paper is about
and also help guide your writing and keep your points focused.
If you are having TROUBLE- then- Brainstorm. If you are having trouble beginning
your paper or writing your thesis, take a piece of paper and write down everything that comes
to mind about your topic. Did you discover any new ideas or connections? Can you separate
any of the things you jotted down into categories? Do you notice any themes? Think about
using ideas generated during this process to shape your thesis statement and your paper.

This research project will discuss the transition cycle of a graduate from student life to corporate
world, highlighting the various challenges that students encounter while selecting career
opportunities with respect to their academic qualifications and occupational categories within their
reach.

I am investigating this topic because it addresses the growing concern of unemployment in the sense
that there is an increasing population of students graduating from different universities with high
qualifications without a clear projection of employment opportunities they need at their disposal.
