Liveability Assessment
Task

The future communities of the world organisation have selected you. You have won your
dream job as a town planner with the task to design future communities, where the focus is
on liveability and the smart use of space.

Your brief is to design a community reflects liveability. As town planner, you have expert
training in using scale, mapping from a birds eye view, using a key and grid.

You will need to use two pages of 2cm grid paper to produce a detailed birds eye view
map of your utopian community. In your planning, you will need too carefully consider the
positioning of the elements of liveability. You will need to create a key with appropriate
map friendly symbols and colours to represent the elements of liveability.

When creating your map, consider using zoned areas that represent different elements of
liveability in your community.

Along with a map of your community you will need to write a newspaper article on the
features of your community and why it reflects ultimate liveability. In the newspaper article
you will need to give detail as to why future town plans should follow the plan you have
created.

When planning consider the elements of liveability listed below:

Use of green space

Residential areas (places where people live: houses, apartments
