I. Company Profile
a. About the Company
Tokopedia is an internet based company that allows individuals and business owners in
Indonesia to open and manage their own online stores easily and for free. Tokopedia provides a
better online selling experience to the sellers, so that the sellers can provide a better online
shopping experience to their customers. It is the first internet company in Southeast Asia that
succeeded to close a number of US$100 million in funding from Softbank and Sequoia Capital.
Softbank is the investor behind the success of Alibaba, while Sequoia Capital is the investor behind
the success of Apple, Google, Instagram, WhatsApp and many other successful technology
companies. They believe that they are in the process of building a World Class Technology
Company which fortunately happens to be in Indonesia. They believe that marketplace is the most
beautiful business model in the world, because the success of a marketplace can only be achieved
by helping others to become more successful.

Their services have allowed hundreds of thousands of Indonesian small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) to send millions of products every month to their customers throughout
Indonesia. Tokopedia is also indirectly responsible for the creation of thousands of new jobs
through the growing success of our merchants, who often become a positive impact by providing
job vacancies in their immediate communities.

help these sellers provide better online shopping experience to their customers.

II. SWOT Analaysis


a. Strength
Payment system is organized and safe:
Purchasing done by customer Payment done e.g. Transferred Money

Because of the safety payment system, the possibility of fraud is small
Partnership with many sellers or product vendors in which provides the customers with
varieties of products with different qualities and prices.
There is a transparency of product review given by the previous purchaser
Transaction is easy, instant, and affordable
The drop shipper feature is one of their competitive advantage

b. Weakness
The product cannot be seen or tried physically, which sometimes result a contrast of quality
and appearance from the purchasers expectation.

c. Opportunity
Enable to sell new products that are based on the customer demands and interests, and if
the product itself has high quality meeting the customer expectations, then it is easily sold
out.

d. Threat
The Possibility of fake website on the behalf of Tokopedia
Price and quality from other competitor
