Background
The NanoMalaysia-IBM Research Collaboration Program
has progressed for almost three years and has
performed very well. This program is based at the IBM
Research Centre, Almaden, USA and is fully sponsored
by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysia. A complete
value chain from research to the market has been
identified for the applications developed through this
program.
Current Achievements
1 Four (4) patents filing pending project continuation
and completion
2 Seven (7) high impact manuscripts
3 23 trained researchers from 10 Universities and were
sent in batches every 6 month- 1 more batch to be
sent to complete the 3 years project
Way Forward
1 Activation of Post-Almaden Programme (through
NanoMalaysia Alumni) targeting:
- Technology licensing;
- Product development & clinical trials; and
- Commercialization
2 Technology development with Malaysian Bionexus
Company for commercialization addressing non-
communicable diseases
3 MOSTI aims to collaborate with MOHE until the
products are commercialized successfully
