Residents Holding a Bachelors Degree vs.

Median Household Income per County in

Wisconsin, 2015
This map depicts the median household income of each
county in Wisconsin against the percent of the population
over age of 25 who hold a Bachelors Degree. The counties
with a high percentage of Bachelors Degree holders and
high household incomes are congregated around large
metropolitan areas, which can be seen in the counties that
border MN in the Minneapolis-Saint
Paul metro area, as well as the counties
in the Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay
areas. In counties that hold American Indian
reservations, there is clear evidence of lower
income and percentage of Bachelors degrees,
which can be seen the Menominee Reservation,
as well as northern WI. Menominee county has the
lowest median household income in WI. Cities with
universities tend to have higher rates of Bachelors
degrees, which may be a result of college graduates
remaining in the area. Interestingly, counties with the
highest population (eg. Milwaukee, Dane, and Wauke-
sha) tend to have the highest income as well, except for
Milwaukee, which holds the rank of 53 in income.
