INTRODUCTION

Why is it time to act?

Because tomorrow could be too late and probably our sons are living in this world, the
world that will consequence acts of man. Beautiful planets are few and the planet Earth
is one of them, so it is time to act.

Our planet is experiencing difficult problems which are consequence of human action, so
that global warming, carbon emissions and other issues should be considered from now a
plan of action for change for each of us, also all economies because they are involving in
this issues. Nexos +1 considers challenges such as: Water (How to ensure access to
drinking water for populations that do not have?), solid waste (How to avoid the use of
disposables and generate reduction strategies to generate less and less solid waste?),
Animal Welfare Challenge (How to generate a harmonious coexistence between animals
and populations that cohabit our cities?) and also healthy eating (How to promote healthy
eating in children and youth to health of people. These subjects are treated according to l
Mega trends as for the world business in the future years, which are related to 10 goals;
reconstruction of society, increasing growth, climate crisis and scarce resources, clean
energy, ICT skills, smart cities, new commitments, market conditions for clean, green
finance and sustainable business models. Therefore, the event of NEXOS +1 at the
Cientfica del Sur University was developed in order to form agents of change, as an event

workshops that allow students to submit proposals for sustainability.
NEXOS +1 BUSINESS AT CIENTFICA DEL SUR UNIVERSITY

Nexos +1 was the first event information science aimed at

the university community,as a place of innovation for sustainability, with the aim of
forming agents of change in students regarding the importance of this event the Director
General academician of the UCSUR, Jos Agustn Ortiz said that "... the new global
challenges require solutions that add visions of different careers and disciplines to
multiply our impact on the world. The future will be of those who learn to work together
around a purpose: sustainability. "

Consequently, the main theme was developed is sustainability, and was divided into four
stages:

1. Inspiration: Lectures was developed by leading figures, considered drivers of

change agents, as Astrid Gutsche (committed chef to the conservation of
biodiversity in the kitchen),Joaqun Legua, Executive Director , Association for
Children and their Environment, them their own experiences and understanding in
business (companies committed to climate change and environmental problems such
today), Alejandro Balaguer, journalist, photographer and documentarian known for
his productions for sustainable development and Javier Perla stood, Forest engineer
Manager Consultant on environmental issues - Dragonfly.

2. Learning: At this stage the participation of students in workshops Boot Camp,

which aimed to generate ideas and solutions raises sustainable innovation, in
relation to the four axes of Nexos +1 considered:
- Water How to ensure access to drinking water for populations that do not
have "
- Solid waste How to avoid using disposable and generate reduction strategies
to generate less and less solid waste "
- Animal welfare How to create a harmonious coexistence between animals
and populations that cohabit our cities "
- Healthy Eating How to promote healthy eating in children and young people
for the well-being of people and the planet "
3. Action: In this space ideas and solutions, which were developed in the
workshops of Boot Camp, which was under rating of a jury, and feedback from
students presented.
4. Celebration: The respective prizes were given to the winning groups and
a musical band was present.

CONCLUSION

- New proposals in the event tend to be a disruptive concept

(panels traps fog, chips animal control, food plan as a magazine and barter solid waste),
so that these ideas are in dimension of project is necessary highlight the problem
identified, assessed in terms of costs and benefits to compare and decide
the appropriateness of its implementation, however it is considered that these ideas go
beyond generate economic profits, the feasibility of these ideas as the project is aimed at
generating benefits to society under the concept of a minimum environmental impact with
a tendency to zero, and create positive externalities.

Personally I believe that change begins with each one of us and with our new ideas we
could save our planet.
