Britania Sachael, beauteous real name of her own. Those who have been dedicated
themselves as her acquaintance call her Tania. Her father named her after the Great
Britainan alluring sovereign state in western Europe, and Sachaelangel of water that
holds dominion over water and helps to purify and clarify thoughts while embracing a serene
heart. Was born in Jakarta, 30th of March 1998 and a B+ type. Is currently living in Kota
Bandung, Indonesia while studying fine art in Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Bandung
Institute of Technology.
Tanias hair is neatly coiffured in shoulder-length, straight, and brown; as much brown as her
eyes, rooted within their sockets. Her skin is light-beige, almost pale. She has a rather skinny
figure, 5.7 ft tall. Generally, her flesh is being coated by asian characteristics, inherited from
her father in spite of her mothers genuine European blood.
Taniabasically a nature and art hardcore lover, sleep hunter, loneliness competitor, food
servant, lazy-ass weakling, and Kampus Ganesha sacrifice. She also loves history as much as
she loves arts. She rarely read fiction, but history books can keep her occupied for hours.
What she likes about history is the way all its facts were linked with particular dates and
places which amaze her in any ways. And everything has ever happened to her, she always
remembers, just like history books, the events on it always remain the same.
She has been day dreaming to continue her life in the Continent after her 17th birthday but
ended up miserably staying still by parents order. Been in no romantic relationship for three
years and still counting unless hot and attractive guy is seen, might be a different story. The
only daughter of Subagya family and the most rebellious one. Living in peace with father,
mother, and two older brothers for better pocket money. Mischievousness can be seen around
her emotionally closest ones. Friendly at her finest.

A Myriad of Stellar Emotional Pieces by Britania Sachael
The art world is a very, very white place. At a rough estimate, an art exhibition was held in
Indonesia Convention Exhibition between 3rd and 10th of September 2017 and it featured
several original works and prints of many different mediums. Tania is one them, the 19-year-
old artist who has been creating intricate, adventurous modern art since the 2010s, forging a
new path in her own abstraction. Because even though these works are abstract and partly of
them are representational of nothing directly as a result, they are the unique products of the
black experience. They drip with sadness, violence, identity, and history.
The works of the outlines sputter and judder like a stuttering printer. Her paintings are not too
much layered, always neatly composed. And more than anything, they havent aged. They
feel seriously modern. All the warm, the collage, and the pastels elements makes them easier
than ever to think you know that Tanias pieces can be both melancholy and fantastical, but
possess a uniformity in style that is unique to her. People were taken by the amount of
passion toward her work, her determination, and her work ethic. They discovered the amount
of feeling and focus she pours into what she creates, and how integral it was to her as a
person.
She is beginning her journey as an artist and is also currently featured on the Netflix
series Terrace House. We are honored to host her very first exhibit! Work will be up until the
evening of the 3rd.
The Internet makes it easier than ever to think you know a person youve never met.
Sometimes Ill meet somebody and shake their hand and pretend that I dont know their
name, that I havent scanned over their Instagram several times via the explore page, and that
I dont possess an enormous amount of information about themwhere they went on
vacation, what their lives are like and who they are. But the truth is that I dont possess that
information. I dont know a person just because I see the things that they make public. This
lesson was most apparent to me upon meeting Lauren Tsai. I came upon her art through her
social media account some time ago, and immediately became a fan. At 18 years old, she is
successful internationally as a modeland now television starand I had expected to
interview a person who was good at art, but had other things in mind. I, wrongfully and
shamefully, expected to meet someone who put their art on the backburner. Much to my
relief and guilt, I was taken by the amount of passion toward her work, her determination,
and her work ethic. I discovered the amount of feeling and focus she pours into what she
creates, and how integral it was to her as a person.
Lauren held her first solo art show on January 2nd, 2017 at ARS Caf which featured several
original works and prints of many different mediums. Laurens pieces can be both
melancholy and fantastical, but possess a uniformity in style that is unique to her.
Elaborate?
Because when I dont, I feel like I get really stressed. When Im not drawing or creating
anything, I feel like theres no purpose to anything in my life. I honestly only feel satisfied
when Im creating something.

It seems like you take a lot of influence from different styles of painting, where do you think
you fall in line?
A lot of people say that my work is like surrealism. I think Im really inspired by fantasy, as
in video games and movies and stuff. Ive always wanted to be a concept artist for creature
design. I think I use a bit of realism when I draw human figures, but I tend to draw from
imagination so it always turns out a little fantasy-ish.
A lot of your work features very expressive or contorted faces and bodies. Is it the bodies or
the contorting of bodies that makes you want to draw?
I think a lot of it is my interaction with people and how I feel about it. I never feel like
drawing when Im happy. I guess most of my work is inspired by feelings of sadness and
loneliness. It might show in my work.
Maybe a little?
I think Im more attracted to artwork thats inspired by sadness rather than happiness. For my
own work I like to pull from those emotions.
At the show, howd you decide the order of the pieces? Was each one meticulously placed on
the wall at that height in that spot in that order?
Well to be honest I only had a month to prepare. John Koga from ARS told me that he had
January 2nd and 3rd open and I was like, Shit, Ill take it! I just started producing
everything, so there wasnt a specific concept to it. Most people pick just one thing and sort
of paint around that and they all kind of match, where as mine was kind of all over the place.
When we hung the paintings up we tried to separate one side with watercolor and make the
other side the acrylic side. I definitely wanted to keep the watercolors together in their own
world.
Yeah one side of the room was really bright and the other was full of sketches. Was one your
grandfather?
Oh that was actually a random old guy at a figure drawing session at the Museum of Art!
Well I wouldnt say random old guy, his name is Keith. But no, its not my grandfather.
What are you pursuing in art currently? Whats your end game?
My end game? Like I mentioned, Ive always wanted to work for an animation studio doing
concept art. For the near future, Im hoping to do more gallery stuff and some illustrations for
fashion magazines in Japan. Im working on a collaboration with a company in Tokyo to
design some bags and shirts for their new line. Im also doing some paintings for a restaurant
in town and planning some meetings with galleries in Tokyo. Im really open to everything.
Yeah, I have no idea what Im doing.
Well you had your first solo exhibit, youre on TV, what do you attribute your success to?
Oh, no. I dont consider myself a success.
Britania Sachael. Was born on 30th of March 1998. Artist and student of Fine Art Bandung
Institute of Technology. Currently living in Indonesia, Kota Bandung Jawa Barat to be
precise. I want to join ROLETHEUNIVERSE because it has been a quite long time I havent
reached closed world and Ive been missing it. I want to join a closed agency also because I
think I need more place where I could spend my spare time as I am having that so-called
campus-life-boredom. Moreover, I am fucked up with open and I think I need smaller circle
so I can mingle well with everyone easily. Aaaand, the concept of ROLETHEUNIVERSE is
beyond cool and the admins are realy really nice! I love how they cope with every
candidate of the upcoming members. Last agency I joined was 404foundead and the agency
stopped operating because the admins and the base account show no activites until now and
we, the members just like okay they want to just forgive us up. And yeah, it ended just like
that, no notification, no farewell. My main faceclaim is Laurent Tsai, and Mona Matsuoka for
the alternative.
