1. Ability to manage multiple assignments and customer service requests, establish priorities, and
meet deadlines while responding to changing issues and requirements in relation to human

United Parcel Service ( public company)


As a supervisor with UPS I was responsible for human resource functions of 20 union employees. I
oversaw their payroll, training, discipline, evaluations, promotions, and personnel folders. As USP
policy changed or shifted, I had to ensure 100% compliance for any changes to HR regulations.

JFT Precision Fabrication ( private company)


As the production manager I oversaw all human resource functions for 30 non-union steel workers. I
was responsible for setting human resource policies and procedures. I updated the employee handbook
and ensured all employees were aware of any changes in company policies. I determined the skill set
for job openings, wrote the job descriptions, sourced, evaluated, hired, and trained all new employees.
I performed all employee evaluations, administered the discipline program, and had final authority for
all payroll issues. I ensured the company complied with all local, state, and federal laws and
regulations in relation to hiring practices and employee treatment. Further, I was the point of contact
for state officials from the Office of Workforce Development. I also determined if former employees
were eligible for unemployment compensation and worked with state officials to ensure compliance
with state employment laws.

2. Skill in utilizing current personal computer applications to include word processing, electronic
mail, internet-based job application processing system, data entry/reports, database and
spreadsheet applications to create documents, emails, databases, spreadsheets, and other
products using computer applications. List computer applications used in the last three years,
the environment in which you used them (i.e., office, home, school), and for what purpose.

In the last three years I have used the following programs in a professional capacity to perform my job:
Microsoft Word: Used daily to write job descriptions, employee evaluations, memos, notes from
meetings, company literature, weekly reports.
Microsoft Excel: Used daily to update payroll, track production numbers, and construct graphs for
production meetings.
Microsoft Power point: Used weekly to prepare slides for meetings.
Microsoft Access: Used daily at Humana Inc. to build on line documents and track insurance data.
Microsoft Outlook: Used daily to send and receive e-mail. Used outlook calender to schedule leave for
employees and for my daily schedule.
Lotus Notes: Used in the same capacity as Outlook while working at Humana.
Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox: Used both at home and at work to gain access to the internet.
3. Knowledge and familiarity with announcing job vacancies, processing applications, identifying
qualified applicants, and making job offers. Describe how you gained this knowledge and
familiarity and the type of organization where you performed them (i.e., federal government,
state government, local government, corporate, or other organizations).

While working as the production manager at JFT Precision Fabrication I was responsible for
announcing jobs through recruiting firms and the internet. I screened applications for the skills
required for specific job vacancies and set up interviews with prospective employees. I selected
applicants for employment based on their performance in basic math and welding tests, their
references, and the skills they disclosed on their applications. I gained this experience through on the
job training, trial and error, and through interviewing techniques I learned while in college. My
Bachelor's Degree is in Human Resources.

*4. Experience in applying the knowledge of federal policies and regulations in the course of
answering customer questions. Specify the federal policies and regulations you have applied in
your experience.

While in the military I used Mil-I and Mil-Q to do inspections on aircraft and make determinations on
serviceability using Military Technical Orders, and engineering disposition. I also had to ensure that
the shop I worked was completely in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations

While working as a Federal Civil Servant with the Defense Contract Management Agency I used Mil-I
and Mil- Q to perform quality inspections on government contracted merchandise; I followed guidance
in 41 CFR to perform contract review and make determinations for contractors; I followed guidance in
OSHA regulations to ensure contractors' facilities were in compliance; and, I ensured Executive Order
11246 was followed.

While working as Production Manager with JFT Precision Fabrication I followed Federal and State
EEO laws such as 42 U.S.C. Section 1981 in hiring practices ; I followed Fair Labor Standards act in
administering pay and overtime; and, insured the production building was running in accordance with
OSHA regulations.
