GUIDELINES FOR THE

RENEWAL OF CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION

FOR BODY CORPORATES

There shall be removed from the Register the name and other particulars of any registered Person, other than
a Graduate Engineer, Engineering Technologist, or Engineering consultancy practice who has failed to renew
his or its registration within one month of the expiry of the registration
Section 16(b) of the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015)

1. It is your responsibility to renew the registration of the company to continue your practice. Failure to
do so will enable action under Section 16(b), of the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015) to be
taken against the company.
2. Renewal application may be submitted by one of the following ways :

ONLINE
MANUAL ( Please refer to the online renewal in
www.bem.org.my/v3/downloads.html )
(a) Please complete and sign Form H7. * New Users
Please register as a user of Online System MyBEM
advance through http://www.bem.org.my/mybem
Get your user ID and password.
** Existing Users
Login into MyBEM Online System .
Review and update company information on Form
H7.

(b) Include an annual renewal fee of RM1,000.00 Payment can be made EITHER by:

* Only cheque / bank draft / money order /
postal orders are accepted.
Payment shall be made on behalf of

* Online bill payment / internet banking.

the 'Payment Reference' in MyBEM Online System

(d) Submit the company's latest Annual Return. Upload the company's latest Annual Return.

(e) Please submit the required documents (including all
additional documents if applicable) to the Board of
Engineers Malaysia for renewal.
Applications must be received before/on 31/01/2017.
Please post the required original documents

submission within 4 weeks after completion of the
renewal online.

the Body Corporate.

(g) Complete and sign FORM SD - Statutory Declaration
of all the NEW directors and shareholders and
EXISTING directors and shareholders with changes in
their involvement with any other organisation other
than the above Engineering Consulting Practice.
Submit FORM SD
(h) Check Composition of the Board of Directors : -
A Board of Directors where at least two thirds of its
members are Professional Engineers with Practising
Certificate in accordance with Regulation 34B(1) of
Act.
(i) New Director-in-Charge (if applicable): -
Provide Resolution of the Board of Directors of the
Body Corporate authorising a Professional Engineer
with Practising Certificate to be the NEW Director-
in-Charge to make all final engineering decisions in
accordance with Section 7A(3)(c)(iv) of the Act.
Submit the Resolution of the Board of Directors for
the Director-in-Charge
(j) Complete and sign FORM K (if applicable) -
Permission to be involved in a Construction or
Manufacturing Company for NEW Directors and
EXISTING Directors with change in their
involvement.
Submit FORM K
(k) LETTER 1 for NEW Directors and EXISTING
Directors with change in their involvement (if
applicable)
Acknowledgement on Professional Engineer with
Practising Certificates Involvement in Engineering
Consultancy Practice.

(l) LETTER 2 for the NEW Directors and EXISTING
Directors with change in their involvement -
Declaration Letter on Active Involvement in
Engineering Consultancy Practice.

3. You required to constantly update your business address as required under Section 14 of the
Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015) as follows :

Every registered Person and Engineering consultancy practice shall notify the Registrar of any
change in his or its business address within three months of the change.

4. Failure to comply with the above sections is an offence and liable to be charged under Section 25 (1)
of the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015) .

PENALTY
Section 24(a) of the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015) : "Any person, sole proprietorship, partnership or body
corporate who procures or attempts to procure registration or a certificate of registration under this Act by knowingly making or
producing or causing to be made or produced any false or fraudulent declaration, certificate, application or representation whether in
writing or otherwise, shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit,
or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years, or to both."
