Reflection
Assignment 3 was very beneficial. This assignment opened our eyes more on the
problems we have in Egypt, especially regarding pollution. My partner and I
focused on land pollution, which could be found on every block while walking
around Egypt. Sadly, it was not hard at all to find places to photograph this
dilemma. Most of the fields are cracked, plants are dead and garbage is
everywhere. We didnt realize how big of a problem it is until we saw it. And
sadly no one cares. No one does anything to fix it. Nonetheless, photography can
offer a solution to this problem. We can use it to raise awareness about issues
like this. Keeping in mind that visuals have strong impact on people, a good
photographer can send a message directly to the audience and make them
understand how much of a problem it is. However, for us, we can post pictures
on social media to grab peoples attention about specific problems, because
people do not understand how much of a serious problem it really is, and how
much it will affect them now and in the future. We also believe that more
organizations should use photographs to show the issue.
