Evolution

By Kaylin Duncan

In this essay I will talk about how I disagree with Evolution even though, there is a large

amount of evidence for the age of the earth and evolution about fossil records, migration out of

Africa, astronomical evidence, and genetic evidence for evolution.

My current position of understanding the Evolutionary Theory is we came from one

species, which was the monkey that over time developed to be humans. Many of the animals

today were descendants of each other, for example hummingbirds can be descendants from

whales. Plants and Animals came from multicellular organisms, which scientist believed

could've took thousands of years to form before the earth was even made. In my opinion, I

disagree with Evolution because why are there still monkeys today? When scientist say we came

from the monkey. In class we had watched a film called, "Journey of Man," about Geneticist,

Spencer Welles. Spencer Welles was trained at Stanford University of California and was on a

mission to find the early human migration out of Africa. But in Welles journey it was believed

there was genetic evidence that all humans beings in existence now descend from one single man

in Africa about 60,000 years ago. These people are the Khoisan people, that have high

cheekbones like Asians, medium brown skin that can go darker or lighter and their faces look

like a composite of everyone today.

In the Genesis account I believe that God created what he name "Earth" within six

days, and the seventh day was a rest day. Moses was the traditional author although he dies in the

story, as he is leading the Hebrews out of Egypt and teaching them about God. I understand the
creation story that on Day one God created and separated light and darkness and he named the

light "Day" and the darkness " Night". Evening had passed and morning came. On the second

day God commanded, "Let the water below the sky come together in one place so that the land

will appear." God made a dome, and it separated the water under it from the water above it. He

named it "sky". This was the second day. Then as God commanded, "Let lights appear in the sky

to separate day from night and to show the time when days, years, and religious festivals begin;

they will shine in the sky to give light to the Earth." God made the two large lights in the sky rule

the Earth, and the sun to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night. That was the

fourth day. Then on the fifth day God commanded, "Let the water be filled with many kinds of

living beings, and let the air be filled with birds." Then God created human beings and animal

life: domestic and wild, large and small. He created the male and the female and he separated the

animals into three groups, the land, the air, and the sea. That was the sixth day. The creation

story should be taken literally, because it describes our relationship with God and how he created

our universe. In genesis it says that God made them like him and blessed them and said " Have

many children, so that your descendants will live all over the earth and bring it under their

control..." God loved us and put us on this earth to live and follow his word. I believe in science

and the artifacts but evolution is not one of my beliefs I strongly agree with, but in the near

future I hope to learn more about it.

When I think of how old the earth is, I think more than billions of years old. I don't

believe in evolution but me personally I think the earth is very old and was made in literally days

like in the bible. Usually most people that don't believe in evolution think the earth is very young

according to the bible.

In my opinion, understanding thats there is a large amount of evidence for the age of

the earth and evolution I still disagree with the facts. I strongly believe the biblical flood was the

reason for artifacts of fossil records, according to one study all of the sedimentary rocks we see

today which appear as though they were laid down over long period of time, they were actually

all laid down within one year by the flood. All of the fossils we see today, which are found

within the geological time, actually died in the same year, in the flood, and we're sorted out

buried and fossilized in the flood sediments. There was three basis methods that hypothesized the

creationist. This first one was called the hydraulic sorting, when the drowned bodies of smaller,

denser and more streamlined animals would settle faster to the bottom, and tend to be buried first

and appear lower in the geological time. In other words, according to creationist, all the

organisms whose remains we find in the fossil records-everything to trilobites, to the

invertebrates, therapsid reptile-mammal, the dinosaurs and wooly mammoths, to the birds and

human beings--were actually all living together, simultaneously, until the flood of Noah drowned

them all and then sorted their dead remains, over the period of less than a year.

Accordingly, of God creating organisms are capable of changing is that they actual

did change as the world changed. There was a great big change after the biblical flood, for

example in the book, "Faith, Form, and Time" by Kurt P. Wise had said "our example of the

panda for a minute, it is likely that the panda species arose after the Flood--from some some bear

or bear like organisms in the original creation. It is thus most likely that bears in the original

creation were not created with thumbs at all." In other words, I disagree that new species can

formed due to natural and sexual selection that animals and humans have. Lastly, human beings

were created specially at a certain in point in time by God. Even though humans and monkeys
have similar DNA does not make them evolutionary relatives. Humans did not come from

monkeys-they were created in the image of God. The bible makes it clear between man and the

animals. Man is given the ability to fellowship with God and given the control over the animals

in the book of Genesis.
