Thank you for submitting the Abstracts of the PhD Thesis work which you have been doing under the
VisvesvarayaPhDScheme of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government
of India (Phase" batch of 2015-16). These Abstracts are undergoing the review process. The Review
Committee is expected to pick up 20 to 25 Abstracts for presentation in the workshop at Visakhapatnam.
The presentation details shall be separately communicated.
We are holding a workshop (third in the series) for the batch of ResearchFellows (registered in 2015-16
Phase II batch) for PhD under Visvesvaraya PhD programme of Government of India and who have
submitted Abstracts of the ResearchWork a couple of months ago in response to our call for the same.
The workshop is being held at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam starting from 17:00 hrs. on Thursday,
the 16th November, 2017 & ending at 18:00 hrs. on Saturday, the 18th November, 2017. The venue
of the Workshop shall be Dr. Y. V. S. Murthy Auditorium, Andhra University College of Engineering
(A), Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This event shall start from 05:00 p.m. on
16th November, 2017 and expect all the VisvesvarayaPhDResearchFellows to attend from start to end.
The opening sessionon Thursday, the 16th November, 2017 would cover Introduction to workshop, talk
by experts etc. and also would give opportunity to get all of you introduced to the event. This shall be
followed by dinner.
As per the decision of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and of the
Academic Committee of the programme, all PhD Fellows who have submitted the Abstracts recently
are required to travel to Visakhapatnam, and participate in the Workshop. You are one among them.
You are, therefore, requested to travel to Visakhapatnam and participate in this Workshop.

Pleasenote that the travel and accommodationshall have to be arranged/managedby the concerned
persons.However, the expenditure involved in your travel to Visakhapatnam & back and stay in
during the workshop as per rules of your institution are to be met out of the Contingency Grant
available to the institutions under the PhDVisvesvarayaprogramme budget head.
Similar workshops for other batches were held in the month of October, 2016 in Mumbai (for the
2014-15 batch) & February, 2017 in Bangalore(for the 2015-16 PhaseI batch). In addition to that,
one workshop was held exclusively for Young Faculty Research Fellows. These were successful
events from which the ResearchFellows benefitted a lot as per the feedbacks received from those
involved. This workshop is the third attempt of this kind initiated under the PhD programme and
your personal presence on the above three days is considered vital and important. As per the
instruction received from both MeitY & Academic Committee, your participation is absolutely
essential for this workshop and we urge you to plan in advance and attend'the workshop.
Copyof this letter is also being marked to your Guide and NodalOfficer of the programmeto facilitate
necessaryapprovalsof your travel for the purposeabove. You may coordinate with your NodalOfficer
for necessaryinstitutional approvalsand plan your travel accordingly.
Andhra University has been kind enough to make available 50 rooms on double occupancy basis(for
100 persons) at reasonable rates for use of ResearchFellowes and details of these rooms are given
below. Availability of accommodation on twin sharing basis shall be from 16th November, 2017 to
19th November, 2017. (Check in 16th November, 2017 & check out 19th November, 2017) and
allotment of the accommodation shall be on first-come-first served basis:-
The occupants are expected to settle the Guest house accommodation charges directly with the
GuestHouseeither by sending advanceamount or paying at the time of check out. The officers from
Andhra University who shall be directly handling the Guest Housebookingsand details of the persons
who can be contacted for accommodation and any other logistics are given below:
It is also informed that the dinner on 16th to 18th November, 2017 & lunch on 17 & 18th November,
2017 shall form part of the workshop, borne by the organizers.
