Rain Rate (mm/Hg)

The graph shows the attenuation vs rain rate for 4 GHz frequency. The rain rate is varies
from 40 mm/h to 180 mm/h. The attenuation for 4 GHz vertical polarization is the smallest
and the attenuation for 4 GHz horizontal is the highest followed by circular and vertical
polaization. The attenuation for frequency 4GHZ is smaller rather than frequency 6GHZ
which is the higher attenuation for 4GHZ only 0.2089 instead of 2.178 for 6GHZ. The lower
the frequency will give the lower attenuation for the system.

The above graphs shows specific attenuation vs elevation angle for C band
frequency, 4 GHz for downlink and 6 GHz for uplink with the rain rate 120mm/h. The
parameter of an elevation angle is varies from 20 to 90. The increasing of an elevation
angle will give the shorter length. The attenuation will decrease with the increasing of an
elevation angle. The value of the attenuation will constant at 75 and 90 at frequency 4GHz

The specific attenuation for rain rate 120 mm/h at frequency 6GHZ give the variety value
which will constantly in same value at elevation angle 75 and 90 . The higher value of the
attenuation is at the elevation angle of 20 for the vertical polarization. The attenuation
increasing with the increasing of elevation angle for Horizontal and circular polarization.

From the above graph, the vertical polarization give the higher attenuation for rain rate 180
mm/h at frequency 6GHz compared to frequency 4GHz following by horizontal and circular
polarization. The value at an elevation angle 75 and 90 the attenuation is constant as
general. The elevation angle 20 will always give the higher attenuation because the smaller
elevation angle will give the long path and of course the attenuation will be the higher.
